Fashion Designer Johana Hernandez Is Making Face Masks
The COVID-19 health crisis continues to rage as governments continue their attack against the virus. Regular civilians have also started to join the fight as best they can. One person is fashion designer Johana Hernandez, who is the powerful force behind Glaudi and Glaudi Bridal.

These aren’t your regular face masks. They are super trendy and fun patterns to cover your face when you have to leave the house. For some cities and states, face masks are becoming a requirement for all people when they are out in public. Los Angeles has announced the measure and it is going to be going into effect on Friday, April 10, 2020.
If you have been laid off or don’t want to spend the money, Hernandez did post a video showing how you can make your own mask.
There are patterns all over the Internet showing people how they can create their own face masks. Now that they are required, businesses can refuse service to anyone who is not wearing a facial covering when they come to a business that is still opened and deemed essential.
The designer even teamed up with her mother and staff to create medical-grade face masks to donate to hospitals.
“Friends been working with my Mom and team and have made hundreds of medical mask 😷 to donate to our hospitals specially PIH Downey as they saved my fathers life multiple times in the past from ICU,” Hernandez shared in an Instagram post.
Money raised from selling the Glaudi face masks is being used to acquire and donate medical masks to healthcare workers who need them.
Healthcare workers in the U.S. are seeing a severe lack of personal protection equipment (PPE) as the number of COVID-19 cases increases. The PPE include gloves, face masks, gowns, hats, and face shields used to protect healthcare workers from contracting the virus as they work closely with ill patients.
Hernandez and her staff are working hard to keep their inventory in stock.
According to some of her posts, the facial masks continue to sell out. The designer is making sure to keep things stocked up so everyone who wants a mask can buy a mask. It is people like this who go above and beyond their duties that show the best of humanity in times of crisis.
