Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta is in talks take on the role of the next villain in the Black Panther franchise. The news was met with celebration by Latino Black Panther fans who are thrilled to see this casting. You might know Huerta from his work in “Narcos.”

Filming for the sequel to the award-winning film was put on pause after Chadwick Boseman’s unexpected death from colon cancer. Boseman played the lead role of T’Challa in “Black Panther.” Boseman’s fight with cancer was not made public until the time of his death. The film was planned to start production in March of 2021, but production will now begin in July of 2021 in Atlanta, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fans are excited for the chance to see Huerta take on the role.
Huerta plays Rafael Caro Quintero in Netflix’s “Narcos: Mexico.” The show is a wildly popular franchise for the Netflix rooster. It is a good idea for “Black Panther” to recruit a known and beloved actor to champion inclusion and diversity in the film.
Huerta has had a long and successful career in Latin America. His has appeared in dozens of films in Latin America and Spain. His jump to the American audience with “Narcos: Mexico” has clearly opened doors for the young actor.

The Mexican actor will be joining fellow Mexico native Lupita Nyong’o as a member of the “Black Panther” cast. Marvel recently announced that Salma Hayek is joining the Marvel Universe in the upcoming film “The Eternals” as Ajak.
