A-Rod And J.Lo Are Trying To Raise Enough Money To Buy The New York Mets

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are always in the headlines. The power couple was vocal and present when it came to helping Puerto Rico after the devastating hurricanes in 2017. Then their engagement set the Internet on fire. Now, with a wedding postponed, the couple found another way to grab headlines thanks to the New York Mets.

Alex Rodriguez and J.Lo are allegedly considering buying the New York Mets.

First reported by Variety, several reports allege that J.Lo and A-Rod have retained JP Morgan Chase to help raise the funds needed to make the purchase of the New York Mets. The baseball team was founded after both the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants left leaving behind no baseball for city residents.

A-Rod and J.Lo aren’t the first people interested in the baseball team.

According to Variety, the Wilpon family, the current owners, were trying to sell 80 percent of the team to hedge fund manager Steve Cohen. The team was valued at $2.6 billion ahead of that deal. The deal with Cohen fell through which put the New York Mets back up for sale.

People are comparing this move to buy the New York Mets to mirroring his former teammate Derek Jeter.

Jeter is a part-owner of the Miami Marlins owning 4 percent of the Florida team. For his 4 percent, Jeter reportedly paid $25 million in a deal valued at $1.2 billion. Combined, J.Lo and A-Rod have a net value of $700 million meaning they would need to partner with some other deep-pocket investors. JP Morgan Chase would have to help J.Lo and A-Rod find people to make up the rest of the $2.4 billion deal.

A-Rod, a former professional baseball player is familiar with the Mets.

A-Rod was considering signing with the Mets when he was a free agent. Instead, A-Rod signed with the Texas Rangers before being traded to the New York Yankees. While at the Yankees with Jeter, A-Rod helped the team win a World Series.

We will all just have to wait and see if the power couple ends up being part-owners of the Mets.

One thing is for sure, A-Rod has some expertise in what makes a baseball franchise great. It also shouldn’t be too surprising that a former baseball player of A-Rod’s caliber is purchasing a Major League Baseball team. It just seems like a natural progression of his involvement with the sport.

What do you think about the potential selling of the New York Mets?

Residente Tried Out For The Chicago Cubs And Javy Báez Was There To Coach Him

MLB / YouTube

Residente and Javier “Javy” Báez playing baseball is the kind of sporting moment we needed.

MLB is rolling out an original series on YouTube and it will give you a chance to see some celebrities take to the field and try their stuff. “The Tryout” started May 18 and the first celebrity up to bat is Puerto Rican rap superstar René “Residente” Pérez Joglar. The show merges both baseball and entertainment in a new and fun way. The show is centered around baseball because, well, MLB, however, it does create special moments of the athletes and celebrities. There is an ease to their conversations that is akin to an interview but just feels like a conversation between friends.

Now, Residente was pretty confident in his abilities to play the game. After all, he has spent his life playing the sport because it is one of his favorite hobbies. Though he tried to temper everyone’s expectations, Residente did say that he would do decent at tryouts. It shouldn’t be a surprise that the “Atréve-Te-Te” singer played catch, caught some ground balls, and batted. Yet, the conversations they had about the best Latino baseball players and their beloved Puerto Rico are where the magic happened.

While warming up, Residente and Báez spoke about Hurricane Maria. It has been three years since the hurricane devastated the Caribbean island they both call home. Maria left millions of American citizens living in Puerto Rico without power, running water, and essential services for many months. When the hurricane happened, Báez and Residente knew that they had to do something.

Residente and Báez swapped stories about where they were during the hurricane and what they did in response. Residente was on tour in Chile and Argentina when the 2017 hurricane killed thousands of people. He immediately went into action and began collecting supplies the people of Puerto Rico needed and sent it all by military plane.

Báez had a similar reaction. The Chicago Cubs player was playing a game when the hurricane hit Puerto Rico. Báez wanted to do something so he was able to convince his manager to send some help. At first, Báez said his manager was concerned he was going to try to go to Puerto Rico but he told the manager that wasn’t possible so they collected supplies and sent them by plane to the people.

There are more episodes of “The Tryout” coming to YouTube soon.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira owned the Super Bowl halftime show this year. The Puerto Rican and Colombian singers cranked up the sexy and talent with a halftime show we are still talking about.

J.Lo shared some behind-the-scene moments from her Super Bowl halftime show.

J.Lo and Shakira’s Super Bowl halftime show brought in 103 million viewers. This was a 4 percent increase from the previous year, which was Maroon 5. Three million more people enjoyed the show and it caused more than a thousand people to call and complain because many complained that it was too sexual.

But everyone is obsessing over the last video in the post.

In the final video, J.Lo and Shakira are going over the choreography. The move they are trying to nail is the booty shake and Shakira asks J.Lo how she does it. Fortunately, you can hear what they say and J.Lo responds.

“I do it with my knees,” J.Lo told Shakira before laughing. “When you shake your knees, your butt goes. My mother taught me that when I was four.”

Her former costar from “Hustlers” had to comment and quote J.Lo.

We hope that this is something that J.Lo taught the women he worked with on the movie. It is pretty solid advice for good booty shaking. Let’s face it, we all know that J.Lo’s booty-shaking is a move she does time and time again. She does it because she is good at it and people like to see it. Now we know how she does it.

People are living for this content.

Lol. Honestly, this isn’t surprising. Anything we ever wanted to know, we asked our parents. Our parents are usually just really fun and there is the openness with our parents when it comes to things in the home. It is a fun, safe bubble where we all let ourselves be ourselves.

There was some confusion because Shakira is known for her dancing.

In J.Lo’s defense, booty-shaking is completely different than shaking your hips. It requires a different kind of movement in your body. Hips and booty move differently and J.Lo might also need advice from Shakira on how to shake her hips.

The post is bringing memories back for everyone about the halftime show that shook the NFL world.

More than 1,000 people complained to the FCC claiming that the show was overly sexual. The claims sparked fierce debate on social media about the merits of the claims and the visuals of the performance. The debate was split with people arguing that those complaining where policing brown bodies.

However, the most obvious thing people are doing is learning a new move for the end of quarantine.

The end of the quarantine is everything that they have all wanted to celebrate for a long time. Thankfully, J.Lo gave us a chance to learn something new while still social distancing and self-isolating.
