With October comes (yes, Pumpkin Spice Lattes) chilly weather, tons of spookiness, and a whole heck of a lot of Halloween media content! Part of the month also includes celebrations of Hispanic Heritage Month, a time for Latinos to pat themselves on the back for their contributions to the culture and history of the United States. Fortunately, today’s Big Streamers are including new movies and TV shows that celebrate both Halloween and Latinidad with new seasons of “Carmen Sandiego” and “Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror (Shudder).”

We scoured the streaming sites for all of their upcoming October shows and movies and listed all of the ones you might enjoy this season from the 2011 film Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana to the Mexican-American favorite “Beverly Hills Chihuahua.”

Jennifer Lopez And Matthew McConaughey Honor The 20th Anniversary Of ‘The Wedding Planner’

Sony Pictures Releasing

2001. A year of quite a lot of big events and don’t fans of The Wedding Planner know it!

Twenty years ago the beloved romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez as a cynical but ambitious wedding planner and Matthew McConaughey the engaged doctor with who she falls in love with.

Twenty years later and of course we needed a reunion to celebrate.

Fortunately, the leading stars reunited for a virtual screening of the 20th anniversary of the hit film.

During an Instagram Live event, the two actors reunited to wax nostalgia about their iconic romantic comedy from their respective homes. During the sweet gathering, Lopez and McConaughey talked about all things related to that time including their kissing scenes. Recalling one kissing moment in particular, Lopez said to McConaughey “You said, ‘Miss Lopez, I’m going to kiss you now.’ And I said, ‘OK, let’s do it. Let’s hit it.'”

Speaking about the movie’s impact on their career they both admitted that they’ve been lucky.

“When you do these movies… we’ve been lucky enough to continue doing what we love,” Lopez explained. “There are certain moments that always stick out in your head.”

“I so enjoyed working with you,” Lopez added. “We had such a nice rapport and chemistry. We were somewhat at the beginning of our careers at that time. It was exciting to be working on any movie. I still feel that way. It was a magical time. I’m such a romantic too that working on those types of movies have a real feel for me.”

Sweetly, McConaughey praised Lopez for her talent and ambition.

“You prepare so well for everything you do. I love your intentionality, I love how deliberate you are. You would have it down, you love the choreography. I love your deliberation, and the preparation you have,” he added before lamenting the fall of romcoms. “In a way, [The Wedding Planner] was the last of the rom-coms,” McConaughey said. “The rom-com doesn’t get made anymore.”

Lopez was quick to point out that she’s worked hard to ensure that rom-coms don’t die altogether. “I wanna know there’s a happily ever after, I wanna know that. Even though we know we’ve lived through a tough year, miracles still happen, love prevails, things can go right, for sure.”

A New ‘Coco’ Short Film Called ‘A Day in the Life of the Dead’ Has Just Premiered on Disney+

A New ‘Coco’ Short Film Called ‘A Day in the Life of the Dead’ Has Just Premiered on Disney+

We have exciting news for die-hard fans of the beloved Pixar movie, “Coco”. Disney+ has just premiered an adorable short film that gives audiences a glimpse into the “average day in the afterlife” in the Land of the Dead.

The 2-minute film is called “A Day in the Life of the Dead” and features various calacas going about the daily lives.

The short film is part of a series called “Pixar Popcorn” that started streaming on Friday. The series will feature a variety of short films inspired by different Pixar movies, including “Toy Story”, “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles”, and of course (and most importantly)…”Coco”.

“A Day in the Life of the Dead” is as beautifully animated as the 2017 film is.

The 2-minute film is animated with the same lush, vibrant colors of the original film and rendered with Pixar’s signature creative vision of the Land of the Dead.

And to make things more exciting, the movie is littered with cameos from fan-favorite characters like Mamá Imelda, Héctor, and the jaw-dropping arrivals agent.

In fact, one of the funniest vignettes is when the arrivals agent repeatedly loses his jaw bone, including when he tries to take an (unsuccessful) bite of cortadillo.

In other parts of the short film, we watch calacas riding a tandem bike, exercising, playing with cute animals, and attempting to keep their heads on straight–literally.

But of course, most of the humor of the short film comes from the inherent comedy of skeletons try to accomplish daily tasks when their bodies keep falling apart.

But “A Day in the Life of the Dead” isn’t the only Pixar short film that’s part of the “Pixar Popcorn” series. There’s tons of cute shorts that will keep you or the little kid in your life entertained for a while.

The series also features the short films “Dancing With the Cars”, “Soul of the City”, “Chore Day: The Incredibles Way”, “Dory Finding”, and “To Fitness and Beyond”, and more. There are eleven short films all together–the perfect amount to binge in one sitting!
