In a series of heartbreaking black-and-white photos of herself and Legend in the hospital with their baby Jack, Teigen shared with the world on Sept. 30 that she’d lost her son at 20 weeks pregnant.

Teigen shared a pair of videos on Instagram Monday with a caption that hilighted how she wanted to “always remember” how empathetic Luna.

“This is the cutest, most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” Teigen said in a video that featured the box of ashes. “We just got baby Jack’s ashes back, so they’re in here for now with some blessed holy tie string.”

Jack’s ashes sat alongside a therapy bear. Teigen explained that Luna had added the therapy bear. “the best part is, I came down and she gave him a piece of her favorite snack. A tiny piece of Pirate’s Booty… She’s amazing.”

“I know this is a weird post but I just wanted to share these to always remember my incredibly empathetic little mini,” Teigen wrote about her daughter in the post. “life is infinitely better with her in it. I miss u, jack. we miss you a lot.”

In a separate video, Luna introduced the bear to Jack and asks “How are you doing today?”

The couple say they were buoyed earlier this fall by the love and support they received after revealing the loss of their son, Jack.

“It’s just been an incredible experience to see the outpouring of love from the internet and the handwritten cards we’ve gotten,” says Teigen, 34. “We couldn’t even walk through our house for a week — there were just too many flowers. You do see beauty through the darkest clouds.”

While time has passed, Teigen paid tribute to her late son on what was meant to be his due date.

“Today was your due date,” Teigen wrote on her Instagram story with a picture of her wrist wrapped in three bracelets made with beads that had the names of her three children, including Jack, on it. “We love you forever.”

While Teigen has noted that her husband was skeptical of taking photos of their son and sharing them, he recently explained that he now understands.

“I think part of what attracted all that love and outpouring of support for Chrissy was her having the courage to share her story with people and our story with people,” Legend recently told People. “Not a lot of people have had the wherewithal and the courage to do that. So many other families feel connected to us in a different way than they have before, and I think it was really powerful for her to do that.”

Fortunately, the couple says they’ve been able to find a “little bit of sunshine” since the loss of their son.

On Tuesday, the couple announced that they have partnered with McDonald’s to give back to families with critically ill or injured children through the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“You learn how to cope with it. I am very proud to say that there’s multiple different therapies I’m using to hopefully become the same person that I was, and I’m okay with that,” Teigen explained. “I’m okay with allowing myself to have bad days and good days… There are all kinds of families that face health challenges with their kids. A lot of times you have to relocate to go to the nearest children’s hospital, which might be hours away from where you live. A lot of families can’t afford to do that, and Ronald McDonald House is there for them.”

Honoring her late son has been an ongoing effort of Teigen’s

Recently she revealed a personal tribute she had made for her late son: a tattoo.

In a tweet shared with Teigen‘s fans on Sunday, the model shared a photo of she and Legend holding hands at a table revealing a tattoo of Jack’s name written in cursive. The new tattoo serves as an update to the tattoos that Teigen has in honor of her husband, daughter Luna, and first son Miles.

To support Teigen and her family, friends donated their blood over the weekend. The model’s longtime friend and celebrity manicurist, Kimmie Kyees was among those who donated blood to replace the pints Teigen was given while she was in the hospital and suffering her pregnancy loss. At the time, Teigen was diagnosed with partial placenta abruption and had several blood transfusions.

Speaking about the kind actions of her friends, Teigen wrote on Instagram “Ok, I tried writing this 4 times but the tears were too much. Here we go again, with my heart full of warmth and happiness. My friend @kimmiekyees sent me this with the caption ‘Me and 6 of my friends donated blood to replace the 7 pints you were given in the hospital, in honor of baby Jack. I love you friend 💛,'” Teigen shared.

The cookbook author revealed last week in a heartbreaking essay shared to Medium, what the death has done to her and her family.

“After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming — it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn’t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either. We had tried bags and bags of blood transfusions, every single one going right through me like we hadn’t done anything at all,” she explained. “Late one night, I was told it would be time to let go in the morning. I cried a little at first, then went into full blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness. Even as I write this now, I can feel the pain all over again. Oxygen was placed over my nose and mouth, and that was the first picture you saw. Utter and complete sadness.”

“I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was,” she wrote in her essay .”I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed them, and that I did NOT want to have to ever ask. That he just had to do it… He hated it. I could tell… It didn’t make sense to him at the time. But I knew I needed to know of this moment forever, the same way I needed to remember our tears of joy after Luna and Miles. And I absolutely knew I needed to share this story.”

For critics, Teigen went on to share that should could not “express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me.”

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, bleeding can occur at every stage of pregnancy.

This occurrence, while in it’s most extreme instances can be a sign of a miscarriage, can also be chalked up to minor spotting related to sexual intercourse or pelvic exams. Still, there’s no doubt that the occurrence can be alarming as well as severe for some and that when model Chrissy Teigen realized she was experiencing such bleeding her fans became rightly worried.

In late September reports revealed that the model and mother of two had been hospitalized after experiencing heavy bleeding during her pregnancy.

Months ago Teigan shared with fans that she was expecting her third child with her husband, singer John Legend. Yesterday, she confirmed reports that she had been taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Sunday afteer experiencing bleeding.

Just hours before she’d complained to fans on Instagram of being “so bored” while stuck on bed rest after her pregnancy was determined to be high-risk, the “Lip Sync Battle” host revealed that she was in the hospital. Opening up to fans, Teigen revealed that she had been bleeding a “little bit less than a month.”

“We all know I’ve been on bed rest for a few weeks and that’s like super serious bed rest. I get up to quickly pee and that’s it. I would take baths twice a week, no showering, just as little as possible,” she explained in a post shared from the hospital. “But I was always, always bleeding. I’m about like halfway through pregnancy and the blood has been going on for like a month. Maybe a little bit less than a month. We’re talking about more than your period girls. It’s definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it’s usually fine. Mine was a lot.”The 34-year-old Teigen went on to explain that she was admitted to the hospital after the bleeding worsened comparing it to ‘like if you were to turn a faucet onto low and leave it there.”

The model went onto assure her followers that she had “very good doctors who know the entire story” of her pregnancy and were taking care of her. She further explained that part of her issues with her pregnancy are related to the fact that her “placenta is really, really weak,” and added “So I feel really good, the baby’s so healthy. Growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot, so much earlier than they ever did.”

“He’s so strong and I’m just so excited for him because he’s so wonderful and just the strongest little dude,” she exclaimed.” I can’t wait for him.” Teigen has been open about her struggles with her pregnancies in the past even sharing that her two children Luna and Miles were conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

During her pregnancy, Teigen shared the support she has been recieving from friends and family.

In posts shared to her Instagram page, the mother revealed that her daughter Luna has been giving her daily warm baths and washing her hair.

Earlier this month, Teigen accidentally revealing the sex of her baby (it’s a boy!)e while on Instagram. She has also been vocal about her pregnancy complications saying “My placenta sucks… It’s always been kind of the bad part of my pregnancies.”

“With Miles, it just stopped feeding him. It stopped taking care of him. I was stealing all his food because I was getting huge but he wasn’t getting big at all,” she noted “So he had to come out early and Luna had to come out early. I was induced both times.”
