There is something so special about the content that is being created right now. We are all having to find new ways to create content and connect with the world that is locked down around us. It isn’t just regular people who are stuck at home having to do it. Celebrities are having to find ways to make things happen to keep their fans happy and entertained. This means that music videos are not going to be the same.

The Jonas Brother and Karol G didn’t let the COVID-19 quarantines stop them from making a new music video.

“Uh-la-la, by the pool, we’re singing bailando.”

ICYMI, the Jonas Brothers are a thing again meaning that all of our teen obsessions with them are coming back. We didn’t know how much we needed them back in our lives until they came back. They’ve been back for a little over a year and it is still kind of surreal to see them back at after their very public split back in the day.

We first got some new music from the Jonas Brothers in the early part of 2019. The fanbase was reenergized and now they are bringing Spanish-speaking fans into the fold. Colombian singer Karol G joins the boys on their new single “X” and the music video is finally out.

The Jonas Brothers and Karol G gave the world a socially distanced music video for their new single “X.”

Fans are excited to hear the new music. There is more to love here than just our teenage selves fangirling internally. For some fans, the inclusion of Karol G’s Spanish verse brings a moment of representation, which still matters. The song is an upbeat dance number that we can all get into. After all, we can all use a moment to forget everything happening and spend some time doing something physical.

The quarantine influence is something fans appreciate seeing.

We are all isolating and it is nice to see other people taking it seriously. The music video is proof that it is possible to be in self-isolation while still producing and creating some fun content. We have seen no lack of fun quarantine inspired content.

We should also all take a moment to celebrate Karol G.

Karol G is pretty new to the scene and her star is clearly on the rise. The Colombian singer first broke through after releasing “Unstoppable.” Her debut album was celebrated within the Latin trap movement as the first solid entry by a woman into the genre.

After a couple of years on the scene, the English-language audience is now catching on to the incredible talent. Her brief moment on the new single “X.” is more than just a feature. The Latina owned her part and, arguably, brought the fire that made the song the bop it has the potential to become.

Karol G’s fans are here to support and promote the singer’s latest collab.

Karol G’s appearance in the video sets her apart as the most important part of the video. Let’s be honest. Most of us are only watching the video to see the young Karol G break through the noise. Her verse just slaps and the Jonas Brothers are better for having her involved in this project.

The graduating class of 2020 was given a special performance of “X” as part of the television special “Graduate Together.”

Congratulations, again, to all of the people who just graduated from high school. You got this.
