Mariah Carey Officially Declares It Christmas Season And Who Are We To Argue
There are certain things that signal the holiday season. There are the changing leaves, cooler air, and “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Mariah Carey is undoubtedly the utmost authority on Christmas and she is here to tell you that it is indeed time to celebrate.
Mariah Carey has officially declared it Christmastime and we can’t argue.
The singer is clearly the authority here. She basically invented Christmas when she wrote the official holiday anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” We all know the song when we hear the bells at the beginning and suddenly there are snow flurries and Christmas garland everywhere. It is just a simple fact of physics.
Carey’s holiday appearance is so reliable you can set your watch to it.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” solidified Carey’s place as the Christmas ambassador. The song has been made into an animated movies, children’s book, and hit song that comes back stronger every year. It is one of the most exciting times for Christmas and Carey fans alike.
There is no arguing with Carey’s word.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” is one of the most successful Christmas songs of all time. It is the best selling Christmas song by a female solo artist and that is pretty clear. According to The Economist, the song has generated more than $60 million in royalties.
This isn’t the first time that Carey let us know when the Christmas season starts.
It is becoming another tradition of hers. She is literally cornering the market in the Christmas season. She has a recurring Christmas concert, merchandise she sells every year, and all of the other things created because of the song. There is really no way to argue that Carey is not the end all, be all of Christmas.
And, of course, the fans are here to make their own versions of Carey’s annual announcement.
“Scream” + Pokémon + Mariah Carey = Holiday Magic. See, everyone can be good at math if they just put their minds to it. We all learned some kind of math that included letters so it makes sense that you can do math with words.
