An Abuelo Got A Hurtful Note From Bad Neighbors About His Decorations And Latino Twitter Came Into Comfort Him

We are rarely more defensive than we are for our abuelos. The viejitos have always been there for us and seeing them treated unkindly is just heartbreaking. That is what one Twitter user experienced after her abuelo got a wretched note about his decorations outside his home.

This is the horrid letter left for @goldenstef’s abuelo by undesirable neighbors.

The letter, which is filled with misspelled words, calls the abuelo’s house an example of a “low class Mexican family.” The letter was written anonymously by neighbors and delivered to the abuelo in an attempt to shame him into changing his decorations. One of the most bizarre moments in the letter is when the angry author criticized the homeowner for having too many American flags claiming he isn’t patriotic and can’t fool the neighbors. Like, which one is it people?

The Twitter user followed up with photos of the house to show the decorations their abuelo has out front.

People flooded the Twitter post with comments supporting and sending love to the abuelo. Fellow Latinos are ready to stand with the abuelo and some just want the names of the people behind the letter so they can talk to them. Some people are stunned at how far the author was willing to go out of their way to be mean to an old man who just wants to decorate his home and front yard.

Latino Twitter wants to come together to let the abuelo know that his decorations are adorbs.

We need to come together to give her abuelo all of the wonderful decoration we love. Let’s turn his house and front yard into a showcase of all of the greatness that Latin America has to offer.

People are falling in love with this viejitos yard.

Honestly, this is a great yard. Who wouldn’t want a yard like this? This yard is original and adorable and worth all of the praise that we can muster. Thank you to people like this for making their yards something unique and worth seeing.

@goldenstef wants everyone to know just how much they appreciate the sweet messages about their abuelo’s yard.

It costs nothing to be kind. It is even better when you can be kind about something someone clearly cares so much about. Who cares if someone decorates their lawn a little too much. At least they are having fun with their lives and that is something we all need more of right now.

Ted Cruz and Seth Rogen Are Currently In the Twitter Feud to End All Twitter Feuds

You may be familiar with the actor Seth Rogen, the burly comedian who has starred in hit films like “Knocked Up” and “Neighbors”. Well, it appears that Rogen is about the only person in the world who is able to get under Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s skin.

Since last Wednesday, the two Canadians have been embattled in an expletive-filled, eyebrow-raising Twitter feud.

It all started when Ted Cruz tweeted a criticism of the brand new Biden administration, saying because President Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement, he’s “more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh”.

To which Seth Rogen eloquently responded: “F–k off you fascist.”

Normally, bigtime lawmakers ignore the public criticisms of celebrities, but this time, Senator Cruz couldn’t help but take the bait. He screenshotted Rogen’s response and commented about it on his Twitter account.

“Charming, civil, educated response,” Sen. Cruz said. “If you’re a rich, angry Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you. If you’re blue-collar, if you’re a union member, if you work in energy or manufacturing…not so much.”

At this point, Rogen took the time to respond: “If you’re a white supremacist fascist who doesn’t find it offensive when someone calls your wife ugly, Ted Cruz is the exact motherfucker for you.” He then added later: “Also I’m in four unions.”

And the debacle just got more intense from there. Cruz responded by calling Rogen a “moron” and saying that the Democratic party believes in the government power to “shut your business, to oppress your faith & to censor your speech.” And added: “Anyone who disagrees, they try to cancel.”

The plot got even thicker, with Rogen doubling down on his claims, this time calling Sen. Cruz a “fascist piece of s–t” with the topper: “Your lies got people killed. You have blood on your hands.”

And in the most bizarre turn of events, the so-called feud (a label that Rogen takes exception to) took an odd detour when the two men began to argue about…Disney’s “Fantasia”?

In an unrelated tweet, Cruz told his Twitter followers that the first film he saw in theatres was “Fantasia”, to which Rogen responded: “Everyone who made that film would hate you.” (Okay, you had to have laughed a little bit, right??)

Ever the one to get the last word in (and apparently having nothing better to do than argue with an actor on the internet?), Sen. Cruz tweeted out: “They’re all dead. So I think we’re good. And Walt Disney was a Republican. Even though you behave online like a Marxist with Tourette’s (screaming “F U! F U!” is really, really clever), your movies are typically pretty funny. I’m sure you hate that I enjoy them.”

To which Rogen revealed that he actually does, indeed, have a mild form of Tourette’s syndrome that just causes twitching, not swearing (plot twist?)

He also chastised Cruz for making light of the syndrome that afflicts many people–including people in Rogen’s family.

And of course, a public Twitter spat wouldn’t be a public Twitter spat without other bloodthirsty spectators jumping into the fray.

Like failed Pennsylvania congressional candidate Dean Browning, who tried to burn Rogen by asking why a “Canadian is so deeply obsessed with American men like @TedCruz”. The “obvious explanation” being that “#SethRogenLovesTedCruz”. Because homophobic jokes are so clever.

Seth Rogen took this as the perfect opportunity to educate Mr. Browning on the little-known birthplace of Senator Cruz. He tweeted: “Ted Cruz is Canadian you stupid f–k.” Well said.

Latino Twitter Gifted The World With These Seriously Good Inauguration Memes

Latino Twitter Gifted The World With These Seriously Good Inauguration Memes

Google/NBC

It’s official: the United States has a new president! Yesterday was Inauguration Day in the U.S. and we welcomed Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States and Kamala Harris as the 49th Vice President.

It was an historic day full of major milestones for the country and the world – and that was made obvious by the sheer amount of attention paid to the day’s events. One has to look no further than the amount of memes that were produced in the wake of the inauguration, from Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga to Bernie Sanders and the adiós to Donald and Melania Trump.

As usual, Latino Twitter showed up with the memes and left many of us on the floor laughing our a** off. These are some of the honorable mentions from a day full of historical moments and incredible memes.

Tío Bernie may have stolen the spotlight from President Biden with his very practical inauguration attire.

The long-serving Vermont senator was there to watch proceedings, bracing the D.C. cold to witness Biden being sworn in as president. To withstand the cold climes, Sanders came prepared in a big old reliable coat and mittens – with his inaugural look and general demeanour waiting for the event to begin capturing the creativity of the internet through a series of ‘Cold Bernie’ memes.

Bernie was everywhere!

The former presidential candidate was popping up in all sorts of places as the Internet memed him into a frenzy.

And he was all of us…

The former aspiring presidential candidate later addressed the attention his outfit was getting in an interview with Gayle King, noting: ‘You know in Vermont we know something about the cold and are not so concerned about good fashion, we want to keep warm and that’s what I did today.’

The Internet has even created a website where you can insert Tío Bernie into any scene you want with Google Maps.

And yes, it actually works!

Michelle Obama told us all how she felt without telling us all how she felt.

When Michelle and Barack Obama departed the White House in 2017 to make way for Donald and Melania Trump to take over the reigns, Michelle did not hide how difficult and upsetting she found the moment. So a lot of people were thrilled to see the Michelle we know and love, happy, thrilled and generally paving the way at the 2021 inauguration ceremony.

Lady Gaga giving the world Hunger Games vibes…

Lady Gaga had the honour of performing the American national anthem, ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ and, of course, she ‘killed’ it. The dramatic and rousing performance was made even better by her custom-made Schiaparelli gown, adorned in the US colours and complete with patriotic hidden meanings. However some thought they’d seen it – particularly the brooch – before…

Then there were the adiós Trump memes that left Mexican Twitter on fire!

A la verga! Adiós, Señor Trump! 👋

This one is too good!

I. Can’t. Stop. Laughing.

Mexican Facebook was also on fire!

This Twitter user is too right, Mexican Facebook really is undefeated!

And some want to reclaim red hats!

If you could bring back red hats, what would yours say?
