A Nurse Bragged About Breaking Covid-19 Rules On TikTok Then She Lost Her Job

COVID-19 malpractice just cost a nurse her job.

Last month, Ashley Grames an oncology nurse living in Oregon raised quite a few brows when she mocked Covid-19 restrictions in a TikTok video. In the video, Grames donned scrubs and a stethoscope while pretending to scream over a caption that read “When my coworkers find out I still travel, don’t wear a mask when I am out, and let my kids have playdates.”

Now a statement released by the hospital, in which she worked, has confirmed that she “is no longer employed with Salem Health.”

Grames was initially put on administrative leave after mocking COVID in a video posted on Nov 27.

The video which has since been taken down continues to circulate on platforms such as TikTok and Twitter.

Grames, who went by the username @Loveiskind05, received an onslaught of criticism and derision.

In a statement, the hospital condemned the video stating that it “displayed cavalier disregard for the seriousness of this pandemic and her indifference towards physical distancing and masking outside of work.” The hospital’s statement was posted to Facebook shortly after the video went viral.

Salem Health has refused to reveal whether Grames quit her role as a nurse at its hospital or was fired from her position. “We do not publicly discuss personnel decisions,” a hospital spokesperson for the hospital told CNN in a statement.

According to reports, “Oregon has been experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases over the past few weeks, setting new record numbers of infections. Marion County, where Salem Health is based, has had some of the highest numbers of cases in the state.According to the hospital network, it currently has 47 staff members quarantined, and 176 employees out of approximately 5,200 have tested positive for Covid-19.”

During the pandemic nearly 280,000 Americans have lost their lives.
