A Mexico City Restaurant Is Offering Up A Rosca De Reyes De Baby Yoda
The Rosca de Reyes is a traditional dessert shared among family and friends on Jan. 6. The dessert has a biblical meaning behind it that gets kind of dark. However, one restaurant in Mexico City is making the rosca a fun and pop-culturally relevant experience.
Kraneo Food is offering customers a Rosca de Reyes de Baby Yoda.
Día de los Reyes Magos is coming up soon and you have a chance, if you live in Mexico City, to celebrate in geek style. Kraneo Food is giving the traditional cake an amazing glow up with a unique twist. Instead of baby Jesus, Kraneo Food customers get to search the rosca for the Baby Yoda.
The cake is honestly so adorable.
The cake is 500 pesos (or $25 USD) and, tbh, looks so worth it. Not only does it look like a delicious rosca, but it also has a Baby Yoda in it. This is the perfect cake for all of you Star Wars fans out there. You can even use it to impress your Star Wars loving bestie. Imagine their face of excitement then dread then excitement again as they find the Baby Yoda, realize they are on the hook for tamales, and then realize it is Baby Yoda again.
Kraneo Food is no stranger to using Star Wars in their promotions.
Last year, Kraneo Food offered a Yodita Box, which came with a burger, potato chips, and a “Mandalorian” inspired craft beer. The Instagram page shows that this is not the first franchise they have tapped into to make their sales. The restaurant has used Harry Potter, The Simpsons, and even Tim Burton to sell their food.
It seems pretty fair to say that Kraneo Food is not concerned with copyright leaving them open to tap into so many fandoms. This one, however, is probably the best one yet.
