James Charles Gives Rosa From TikTok A Makeover And The Glow Up Is Everything

Adam Martinez gifted the world Rosa on TikTok and the videos have become the needed humor right now. Every time you hear “Dude, come here” you know that Rosa is about to leave you in stitches. James Charles had Martinez on his YouTube channel for a makeover and it is a wonderful moment in Internet history.

Adam Martinez, a.k.a. Rosa, joined James Charles on his YouTube channel for a makeover.

The TikTok legend joined the YouTube beauty guru to chismear and try a new look on the iconic Rosa. While we know there is nothing wrong with her incredible makeup look, it was interesting to see Rosa all done up. We also got to learn a little bit about how Rosa came to be.

During the video, Martinez tells Charles about how he once ordered some lashes from a random lash company and what he got were huge eyelashes. Martinez immediately knew that he had to do something creative with them. He put them on and Rosa was born. Martinez also decided on the name Rosa because he wanted something that was not basic but basic.

People on social media were split on Martinez doing a video with Charles.

Charles fans were excited to see more of Rosa and learn about the iconic social media star. Rosa is the kind of Latina character we all know from our lives and the way Martinez plays the character is hilarious. We have all heard that one girl say, “Dude, come here.”

Martinez’s fans seemed less enthused to see Rosa sharing a screen with Charles.

Charles has created some controversial moments on social media. It seems that, to some people, the controversy was too much and have not forgiven him. The most stunning moment of controversy from Charles was his feud with Tati Westbrook that captured the attention of most people on social media.

Meanwhile, some fans just want to see Rosa grow and become the major Internet celeb she is destined to become.

There is nothing wrong with collabing with someone for content. Sure, there are some things that should be avoided because of the values they represent. However, collaborating with a beauty guru on YouTube seems pretty normal for these days.

It is something to celebrate for Martinez. He was famous on TikTok first and his star is starting to rise. Rosa is hilarious in the video and the fans are sharing their love for this kind of content in the YouTube comments.

Fans are already giving Martinez advice on what videos they want to see.

Even if you are living under the rock now called self-quarantine, if you’re online you probably definitely heard about Rosa. Within just a matter of months, the fun-loving jefa with crooked ashes and some shocking cheek contours has won over fans.

The character, created by Instagram and TikTok user AdamRayOkay has shot to fame, even getting invitations from Rihanna to her Fenty Tik Tok house. In a recent interview with Paper Magazine, the newly minted TikTok star spoke about her rise to social stardom and the crazy world we are currently living in.

Speaking about quarantine life, Rosa had a message of fans to remain positive and keep their chin up.

“I’m just trying to stay positive [and] I want to make other people feel positive,” 20-year-old Adam Ray Okay told Paper. “So I’m just trying to put as much content on there as possible, on the internet. Just because right now both the internet and the actual real world are in a really dark place. So yeah, I’m just trying to stay positive.

On what inspired them to create Rosa, Okay explained she was easy to come up with because everyone can relate to her.

Paper Magazine/ Instagram

“I had downloaded the TikTok app and I was just scrolling, doing my thing. I wasn’t really thinking of making my own content. And then I just got inspired by myself, my childhood growing up and, like you said, everybody knows this Rosa character and I felt that she had been forgotten about… So once I brought her back, everybody was just so familiar with her and that’s why I felt she did really well,” Okay said, going onto explain that just about every Latino knows a girl like Rosa. “She’s everywhere. So, even if you didn’t grow up with somebody like her, you know how she is. She’s predictable in an unpredictable way. She’s just so familiar… she is part of everybody.”

Speaking about going viral, Okay explained that they were shocked when heavy appreciation for Rosa began to come in.

Paper Magazine/ Instagram

“I was honestly shocked. Like I said, putting my first video up there, I didn’t expect any of this to happen. So it made me feel good because I’m able to put my community out there like that, in a positive way. And I don’t know, I just… Even today I get the same exact feelings that when I first went viral because I just feel it’s so crazy that I can give Rosa this platform and express who she is and where she came from and stuff that.”

Okay also said that Rosa has given them a chance to fully embrace their interests in beauty and fashion.

Paper Magazine/ Instagram

“As Adam, I enjoy beauty. Makeup is something that I enjoy doing. So it definitely was a huge welcome and there was so much that I got to experience from the other beauty creators. I definitely enjoyed it, especially because everybody just does their makeup in a different way. So being able to see how everybody else does it differently. It’s so dope to see other creators discuss that.”

#ChampetaChallenge Goes Viral As People Attempt Shakira’s Halftime Dance

It has been almost a week since Super Bowl LIV. Everyone was talking about the J.Lo and Shakira halftime show and the unapologetic Latin performance. Shakira’s appearance was arguably the most successful. Her single “Whenever, Wherever” reached the No. 1 spot on the charts and she created a viral TikTok dance challenge called #ChampetaChallenge.

It all started when Shakira posted a video teaching the choreography of her Super Bowl halftime show.

Champeta is a form of music and dance that originates from the Caribbean coastal region of Colombia. It is traced back to people of African descent who lived in Cartagena before spreading in influence to Barranquilla.

Then, Shakira posted a behind-the-scenes video of her staff learning her halftime show dance.

Everyone looks like they are having so much fun learning this dance that it makes you want to give it a shot. Her video is captioned, “Directors, producers, cameramen,… all of them learning to dance Champeta. #ChampetaChallenge.” Smart.

With that behind-the-scenes video, the #ChampetaChallenge was born and soon found a home on TikTok.

Videos have popped up all over various social media channels of people and influencers jumping on the #ChampetaChallenge bandwagon. Some of these people are super talented.

Friends have joined forces to spread the regional dance style.

Who doesn’t like spending time dancing with friends? It’s a workout, bonding moment, and just a good time. And if you can make a viral video at the same time then why not?

Some people wanted to match the dancers and Shakira’s outfit in their own performance.

@besperon

Love this dance so much! Tag shakira in the comments!!! #champetachallenge #champeta #shakira #superbowlliv #halftime #halftimeshow #dance #fyp♬ original sound – shakira

Certainly, this earns them extra points. Learning and doing the #ChampetaChallenge is one thing. Coordinating your outfit with the people on the tv takes this whole thing to another level.

And some people really let loose during their dance challenge.
