Karol G And Anuel AA Announced On Instagram That They Will Definitely Be Married In 2020

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you probably know that Karol G and Anuel AA were major players in the 2019 Latinx music game. Both artists (as well as Maluma) were listed as the most streamed Latinx artists of the year.

Separately, they have made serious names for themselves. Karol G is killing it as 2019’s most listened-to woman in urbano. “Tusa,” her latest—and possibly most celebrated—song of the year debuted at the top of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, making history as the first female collaboration to do so. As for Anuel AA? He won Billboard’s 2019 Latin Music Award for New Artist of the Year, though he’s been on the scene since the early aughts and is considered a major pioneer of Latin trap music.

Although both Karol G and Anuel AA are independently famous, they’ve been making headlines together since they first started collaborating late in the summer of 2018, shortly after Anuel AA was released from prison for unlawful possession of a firearm. Their debut came in the form of the straight bop “Culpables,” and though fans everywhere speculated that they must be a thing, the artists insisted for months that they were just close friends. (At the Latin GRAMMYs in November of 2018, Karol G told Billboard: “We have a great friendship. Anuel is all yours, ladies.”)

But have you heard “Culpables?!” Not only is it an absolute jam—it recounts the story of two people who fall in love while they are dating other people (though these other people are also fooling around), and the lyrics (paired with chemistry shared by Karol G and Anuel AA in the music video) seemed to confirm back then that they were, for sure, a couple. But they continued to play with the public, staying silent in the face of rumors and avoiding any real PDA (during their first live performance of “Culpables” in Miami, Anuel went in for a kiss, and Karol seriously dodged him, causing people to think that what she’d said about them being “just friends” must actually be true).

But then it happened—on Anuel AA’s November 26 birthday, the couple made their relationship Instagram official, posting precious messages that (finally!) declared their love to the world.

Since then, they have assumed true power couple status. Three of their collaborative singles topped the charts in 2019: in January, “Culpables” peaked at No. 8; “Secreto” hit No. 4 in April; and “China” debuted at No. 2 in July. When they appeared together at Billboard’s Latin Music Awards in April, the world got their first red-carpet glimpse of them as not just a hyper-successful collaborative pair, but as an official romantic couple. That was also the moment we realized how serious of a couple they were. Because Karol G was wearing something very shiny on a certain finger—a jewel that had started many engagement rumors in the months prior to that awards show.

Although the couple didn’t speak much about their wedding plans last year, Karol G did share some ideas about how she envisioned her big day.

“I think I want something super simple, something natural, something small,” she shared. “To be honest, I haven’t thought about the specific things because I want everything to be super simple and natural as possible.” She added, “In reality, what I want is for people not to stress about how they’re going to look and what they are going to wear. Or by the fact that there might be news outlets around, and we might feel restrained from having a good time.”

Though, of course, the superstar also mentioned some of the most necessary ingredients for a picture-perfect wedding: “I want there to be cakes and pastries all over the place, meats and pastas and sweets,” she said. “So my family, a super DJ and lots of food. And obviously the groom.”

And after an almost year-long engagement, Karol G’s vision will become a reality! Because the power pareja has announced via Instagram that they are definitely getting married in 2020.

Este año hay boda ????????

A post shared by “REAL HASTA LA MUERTE” (@anuel_2blea) on

An exact date has yet to be shared, but Anuel AA captioned his Instagram post with the words “Este a año hay boda,” so fans everywhere rejoice! According to Entertainment Tonight, Anuel AA also wishes for a simple wedding, just like his wife-to-be.

“As long as I have the beach, we good,” he said. “All the family [there].”

So superfans of the “prince and princess of Latin music” can rest easy (and get excited!) knowing that wedding bells are on the horizon. Let’s hope that their union comes with some more hot releases to top the charts of 2020!

Red Bull is bringing us three weeks of Latin music to your living room in the time of Covid. As case spike and people are going back into stay-at-home orders, Red Bull Estado Unidos de Bass is giving you the entertainment you need to make it the most of the quarantine.

Red Bull is bringing the hottest Latin music artists into your home over the course of three weekends.

Red Bull Estado Unidos de Bass is here and over three weekends you will get to see seven jam sessions coming to you from five cities. You can check out some of your favorites performing Dec. 4-5, Dec. 10-12, adn Dec. 18-19. They are performing from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Austin, New York, and Miami truly highlighting Latinos from across the country. Here is who you can expect to see perform.

Kali Uchis

Kali Uchis is excited to be part of the Red Bull Estados Unidos de Bass because she is here for anything uplifting her people. The Colombian singer is grateful for the kind of creative inspiration she got while in isolation due to Covid and it shows.

“I’m not new to creating in isolation but it was refreshing to tap back into being locked in the house while creating,” Uchis said. She added: “[My fans] can always expect genuine things from me and always elevated from what I did last.”

Kinky

The band is making the most out of the quarantining this year to learn better ways to stay engaged and connected. While they have been locked away, the band members have had a chance to reconnect with themselves and who they are as musicians.

They appreciate being able to go back to the basics and remembering why they got into music in the first place. The band has been mixing the different sounds of Latin music into their own unique sound for 20 years.

Speaking of which, stay tuned for next year. The band is planning something to celebrate their 20th year of making your body move.

Tomasa del Real

The Chilean singer is also known as La Reina de Neoperreo because she is credited with literally creating it. The offshoot of reggaeton, born on social media, is a sound all its own and it has pushed Latin music to expand even more. Tomasa del Real is so grateful for the Internet and its ability to connect people so seamlessly during these times.

“I feel that in these difficult times, we as artists have had to use our imaginations to connect with our fans, thanks to the internet we have many safer alternatives for performing,” Tomasa del Real said. “It’s important to create new ways, we are in a digital era where entertainment has been adapting to what is happening around the world and where we are able to stay present.”

La Doña

La Doña’s vintage look is everything and the San Francisco artist’s vocal power backs up her amazing vibes. The musician considers herself lucky to be included in the same line up with so many influential and important artists.

“I am so excited to be included in this symposium of influential and genre-defying artists. It’s special to me to be able to congregate around “bass” and dance music in a time when we’re are more limited in our ability to engage with dance and el club,” La Doña said. “It’s especially exciting to me, as a Latina native to San Francisco, to have a showcase featuring Bay Area musicians, as this node of music and culture is so often overlooked.”

El Dusty

El Dusty is in it for the fans. The Latin Grammy nominated producer is ready to make the most of the performance via technology. Not only will he get a chance to perform with friends of his, but he will get to know his fans a different way.

“Touring is a huge part of my whole project,” El Dusty said. “Performing live helps me stay in contact with fans around the world but while we are in this battle it is fun getting to know my fans even better and communicating with them is aside then ever over the internet in our livestream chat rooms or over comments.”

Los Rakas

The Panamanian cousins are creating a sound that everyone can dig. As part of the Red Bull de Bass lineup, the cousins want to show their fans what they have been working on and hope to gain some new ones.

Red Bull is a perfect fit for the band by showcasing the best and matching with their own style. Most of all, Los Rakas want to make sure that they show their fans their commitment to being there for them no matter what. Fortunately, they are able to do so with a Covid-safe celebration of Latin music.

You can find out more about the event here.

Bad Bunny is totally open to doing a collaboration with K-Pop sensation BTS.

Bad Bunny was a recent guest on “E!’s The Rundown” when the host asked her about all of his impressive collabs. She then asked him what he though about doing a collab with BTS and he was genuinely shocked and excited at the same time.

“Oh wow,” Bad Bunny said. “I have to learn how to dance first, right. I know how to dance but not like BTS.”

He then showed what dancing he can do and confirmed that he would collab with them once he learned how to dance.

Of course, fans are all abuzz with the potential of a collab.

People are ready to show him how to dance so they can get that collab going. There is no time to waste in getting this going. The people have been given a glimpse of the future that they want and there is nothing that is going to stop them from getting it. You can’t just tease the people with this kind of musical majesty.

Fans are calling on members of BTS to start reaching out to get this done.

With technology what it is today, they can all get on a video call and teach Bad Bunny their moves. Zoom and FaceTime are making the world work better and more directly across borders as we wait out this virus. If you can conference call your company then you can definitely Zoom to learn some dance moves for what is clearly a very wanted collaboration.

Fans are hyping each other up to make sure that we all do our part to make this happen.

There has been non stop chatter on social media calling for this collaboration made of music greats to happen. Bad Bunny and BTS have taken over the world with music that is not in English. People around the world are vibing to Korean and Spanish music thanks to these two musical geniuses.
