Melania Trump Caught on Tape Discussing Child Border Separation Policy: ‘Give Me a F—–g Break’

It looks like the Melania Trump isn’t quite as stoic as everyone thinks she is. The First Lady was caught on tape discussing immigration policy, her negative news media coverage and…Christmas decorations.

The audio recording was captured by Mrs. Trump’s former friend and senior advisor, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff in July of 2018. Winston Wolkoff is currently promoting a book about her friendship with Mrs. Trump called, ‘Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady’.

The conversation about Trump’s border policy appears to have been sparked by Mrs. Trump and Winston Wolkoff’s discussion of Melania’s Christmas duties and the media’s reaction.

“I’m working like a – my ass off at Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f* about Christmas stuff and decoration?…And I say that I’m working on Christmas planning for the Christmas,” she says, her tone audibly frustrated.

She then launches into a sarcastic-sounding imitation of her critics: “And they said, ‘Ooh what about the children, that they were separated?’ Give me a f—–g break.”

The recording reveals a radically different portrait of Melania Trump than the public is used to seeing. Contrary to her public persona as unflappable and detached, this Melania appears to resent being called “complicit” and has frustrations over of influence over government policy–specifically over Trump’s controversial policy of child separation at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“They say I’m complicit. I’m the same like him. I support him. I don’t say enough. I don’t do enough,” she laments to her friend.

In the recorded conversation, the First Lady discusses her thoughts about undocumented immigrants and forced child separation at the border at length.

When talking about the refuge women who say they are running from gang violence, Mrs. Trump expressed her skepticism at the veracity of their claims.

“Some of them are using the lines [that they’re running from gang members]. They’re kind of…not ‘professional’, but they’re teached [sic] by other people what to say to come over…” she said. “Because, you know, they could easily stay in Mexico. But they don’t want to stay in Mexico because Mexico doesn’t take care of them same as America does.”

She also explains that she “was trying to get the kid reunited with the Mom” at the border, but she “did not have a chance” because the process “needs to go through the law.”

She also expressed frustration at what she believes is unfair treatment of her by the news media.

Talking about her June 2018 visit to a border detention facility in Texas: “They [mainstream media] will not do the story. We put it out. They would not do the story. You would not believe it,” she tells her friend. “They would not do the story because they are against us because they are liberal media. Yeah, if I go to Fox, they will do the story. I don’t want to go to Fox.”

Some Americans are pointing out the media’s double-standards for Mrs. Trump compared to former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Many are concerned with Melania Trump’s lack of empathy when it comes to the situation of children being separated from their parents at the border.

One thing is for certain–this debacle appears to be the least of the Trumps’ worries right now.

Anyone who has watched this video of a 10-year-old boy asking a Border Patrol officer for help through tears, can admit just how heartbreaking it is. The boy says he was left alone while traveling with a group across the border when they abandoned him.

But now his family is speaking out and sharing the backstory to the emotional video that further highlights just how urgently the crisis at the border needs to be addressed.

Video of a 10-year-old boy wandering near the border quickly went viral for how heartbreaking it was.

A heartbreaking video shared last week by Customs and Border Protection of an unnamed 10-year-old boy found wandering alone in Texas underscored how desperate the situation is on the southern border. The video showed a young Nicaraguan boy found on the side of a dirt road by an off-duty Border Patrol agent after wandering alone for four hours in the desert.

People reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection released footage of the incident, which happened on April 1 by a Rio Grande border patrol agent. The boy explains to the officer that he woke up and discovered that his group had left him behind. “I came looking because I didn’t know where to go, and they can also rob or kidnap me or something,” he told the officer.

In a statement to the publication, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the agent “transported the child to a Border Patrol facility where he was fed and medically screened.”

But now we’re getting a better understanding of what led to this heartbreaking video.

Now, the boy’s family have described his plight to the Washington Post. Little 10-year-old Wilton Obregon and his mom crossed the border into Texas last month but were expelled under Title 42, a policy that releases migrants back to Mexico without letting them seek asylum.

Hours after they were sent back, they were kidnapped, according to Wilton’s Miami-based uncle, Misael Obregon. The kidnappers called him and demanded a $10,000 ransom but Misael could only pay $5,000 so the kidnappers only released Wilton. They dumped Wilton back at the border. Obregon said his sister is still in custody of the kidnappers. “Now I’m worried that she’s going to die,” he said.

In fact, the boys mom called Misael Obregon on Friday morning, crying after seeing the video of her son crying at the border.

The family’s plight highlights the need for reforms to Title 42.

During the campaign, President Biden complained about the humanitarian consequences of the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, which forced asylum seekers to wait for the their court hearings in Mexico. Many were forced to wait in dangerous refugee camps along the border that subjected them to human trafficking, violence, and sexual assault.

Under Title 42, though, which began under President Donald Trump and continues under Biden, asylum seekers are again in the same desperate situation. It’s unclear how many of them have been kidnapped.

“The Biden administration is winding down one of the Trump administration’s most notorious policies but at the same time it is expelling other asylum seekers back to the very same dangers, attacks and kidnappings through its continued use of the Trump administration’s Title 42 policy to evade U.S. refugee law,” Eleanor Acer, senior director of refugee protection at Human Rights First, said in a statement.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ted Cruz are at it again on Twitter. This time it’s about immigration policy. After recently traveling to the US-Mexican border to underline the recent rise in immigration, Cruz accused AOC of pushing for a “full open borders” policy.

And of course, AOC got him with some solid zingers.

AOC in turn hit back at Cruz for recently fleeing his home state of Texas during its power grid collapse to vacation in Cancún.

In response to Cruz’s attack, AOC suggested Mexico avoid allowing Cruz in the next time he attempts to vacation there. She also called on him to resign from office for his attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

“Ted, this is pretty rich coming from someone who fled their own home (and responsibilities) during an environmental crisis to cross the border and seek refuge in Mexico,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Also you funded cages, expanded cages, and yet you’re complaining about cages. You have no policy, just puff.”

Ocasio-Cortez accused Republicans of hypocritically attacking the current administration’s detention of migrant children at the border after they supported President Donald Trump’s policy of separating migrant parents from their children.

Currently, Democrats like AOC are calling on Biden to impliment more liberal immigration policies.

Republicans have strongly expressed their dislike for the recent rise in migrants which has come as a result of Biden’s reversal of Trump’s most rigid border policies.

AOC is currently a co-sponsor of the Roadmap to Freedom resolution. The resolution calls on the Federal Government to develop and implement a Roadmap to Freedom “in order to overhaul the outdated immigration system in the United States that has gone without significant reform for decades, and to relieve the great human impact an unjust system bears on communities around the country.”
