Boyfriend Proposes To His Girlfriend By Hacking Her Favorite Disney Movie And Making Them The Lead Characters

Lee Loechler wanted to make his proposal extra special. Loechler was hoping to give his high school sweetheart, Sthuthi David, something truly catered to her. As it turns out, her favorite film is the animated feature Sleeping Beauty. Loechler came up with a plan to alter the film so that she was a character in it.

“It’s not every day you get to propose to your High School sweetheart. For the past six months, I’ve been working with an illustrator to animate my girlfriend and myself into her favorite movie, Sleeping Beauty. On 12/30/19 I popped the question in a theater filled with our friends and family,” he wrote on the Youtube caption.

The legendary proposal

The theater was filled with the couple’s family and friends but somehow David had no idea. Suddenly, at the end of the film Aurora has beautiful brown skin and the handsome prince looks a lot like Loechler. At first, David was confused but when the cartoon prince whipped out an engagement ring and Loechler stood up in the theater, what was really happening became completely clear.

“It’s not every day you get to propose to your high school sweetheart. So I just wanna take my time, savor this moment,” Loechler says getting down on one knee.

“Oh my god, these poor people,” David says tearfully.

“They’re all in on it,” Loechler revealed. At this moment David turns around and realizes that the theater is filled with their loved ones.

“I love you with my whole heart including all of its ventricles, atriums, valves — she’s a cardiologist. Sthuthi David, MD, will you live happily ever after with me?” Loechler says.

“Yes,” David exclaims before joking. “I thought there was something wrong with the movie!”

Loechler and David seem to share a wicked sense of humor. After the proposal airs, an alternative ending where David rejects his proposal closes out the movie.

“The only thing better than seeing the smartest person I know completely dumbfounded was knowing we’d get to live happily ever after together. Enjoy,” Loechler wrote on Instagram.

The artist behind the proposal.

Loechler worked with Australian scientist turned illustrator and animator Kayla Combs for six months to get the proposal just right.

“SURPRISE!!! For the last 6 months I’ve been working with the incredible [Loechler] to execute the Sleeping Beauty proposal of his high school sweetheart’s dreams,” Combs wrote on Instagram. “After many late nights sketching and coloring I might be even more excited that [David] said yes than he is! Lee, thank you so much for trusting me with your vision. It’s truly been an honor to be a part of this. Wishing you both the happiest of Happy Ever Afters.”

Combs worked as an analytical chemist for two years before pursuing her dream of becoming an illustrator. Now she creates cartoon characters featuring a diverse array of women and is donating 100 percent of profits from her children’s book What Can We Be? to raise money for the Australian Bushfire Disaster Appeal to support Australian firefighters.

The reaction

The video which has garnered almost 3 million views on YouTube, and has received widespread media coverage, since yesterday is certainly a hit. People simply had no choice but to stan such a thoughtful proposal.

“I have no clue to logistical magic that had to be done to animate yourself & your girlfriend into sleeping beauty, rent out a movie theatre, & get all your family & friends into the theatre w/o her noticing anyone),” one Twitter user wrote.

Some men on Reddit felt like the video made their proposals pale in comparison to the amount of effort that went into Loechler’s.

“I thought I was smooth with my bridge and lilyponds on a black sand beach in Hawaii….. this guy just went and rewrote theatrical history, broke the fourth wall, made a 4th-dimensional joke and timed it perfectly, made a highbrow doctor’s joke, conspired with the internet, and filled a theater with family and friends,” one Reddit user said.

Loechler has set a very high bar for himself, but it is pretty clear he believes David deserves nothing but the best.

COVID-19 has completely changed practically everyone’s way of living. But post-pandemic life has become especially challenging for parents, who are now forced to be stuck inside with their children for hours on end.

Between assisting your kids with distance learning and struggling to find your own “me time”, many parents feel as if their world has been turned upside down.

Recently, news watchers in Southern California caught a glimpse into the new era of COVID parenting when meteorologist Lisa Lopez’s toddler interrupted her live broadcast.

Los Angeles-based KABC meteorologist Leslie Lopez was reporting the weather as usual when she was visited by an unexpected guest. As she spoke about an incoming storm, her 9-month-old son, Nolan, entered the frame.

Slightly startled, Lopez giggled for a moment and said, “Looks like there’s a baby down below,” before bending over and picking him up. Then, like the rockstar that she is, she continued her report.

“He walks now, guys, so I’ve lost all control,” she quipped before ending the segment.

The public’s reaction to the adorable interruption was incredibly positive.

No one was annoyed that their weather report was interrupted. On the contrary, so many people felt like the clip made them feel less alone.

“Agree that this is always fun to see—we are all dealing with this and it makes one feel good—it’s real,” said one woman on Twitter. “It’s awesome. Never feel bad because we all inside are feeling joy as we can relate.”

Others commented on how the video perfectly illustrated how modern women have become adept at multitasking. “It was not just a moment of heartwarming love, but a moment of the strength of women!” said another Twitter user. “It just shows how easily women can be full of love and do their job at the same time!”

Later, KABC did a special report on the happy mistake to see what Lopez herself thought of the surprising public reaction.

“We received so many comments from viewers thanking her for showing what the reality is right now for so many people working with kids at home,” said fellow reporter Jovana Lara. “It is not easy.”

As for Lopez, she revealed that viewers are hungry for a different kind of weather report: “I’ve been getting comments, ‘More baby in weather, please.'” Yes, please!

Just when you think yo’ve seen all the Karen videos out there, one comes out of left field and blows them all out of the water.

The video we’re talking about here is the video of Cindy Falco-DiCorrado, a 62-year-old “anti-mask activist” who exemplifies the very definition of white privilege.

Falco-DiCorrado was arrested last Thursday at an Einstein Bagels location in Boca Raton, Florida. Luckily for the internet, Falco-DiCorrado had a camerawoman in tow to record the entire debacle leading up to the arrest.

The video starts in the middle of things, with an officer taking an unmasked Falco-DiCorrado by the arm, asking her to please step outside. It is immediately evident that the woman (who, by the way, is dressed in head-to-toe leopard print) will not be compliant.

Falco-DiCorrado begins raising her voice and screaming at the officer, shouting things like “Get your hands off of me! You are kidnapping me!” and “You are violating the Constitution! That’s discrimination!”

At one point, the unseen camerawoman who is recording the meltdown pans around the bagel shop to get a look at all of the spectators.

It appears that every customer in the shop, as well as the workers behind the counter, have taken their phones out to record the bizarre incident.

The Florida woman continues to struggle with the cop and scream things like “Get your hands off of me! I’ve done nothing wrong, I am not a criminal,” while accusing the police officer (who is Black) of “stealing her purse”.

The struggle continues until a second cop arrives and immediately decides to not handle the unhinged woman with kid gloves. The second cop immediately grabs her by the arm and, with the help of the other cop, proceeds to drag her out of the shop.

But the video doesn’t end there. As Falco-DiCorrado is dragged out of the shop, she continues to scream.

The officers proceed to arrest her while she struggles against them and screams: “Stop it! You cannot arrest me! I’ve done nothing illegal!”

The entire time she is being arrested she is visibly and enthusiastically resisting arrest.

Watching the video, one can’t help but wonder how the officers would have treated her if her skin was a different color.

The video was posted to the popular Instagram page @CrazyKarens where it quickly went viral.

Commentators were stunned by the entire interaction, writing things like: “They let her get away with way too much! They would’ve thrown a person of color right on the ground the minute he/she didn’t stand up.”

Another person said: “With all that resistance she didn’t get pepper spray, no taser, no knee to the neck, no punches and they even called her ‘ma’am'”.

According to officials, Falco-DiCorrado is facing charges of trespassing and resisting arrest without violence. All because she didn’t want to wear a mask.
