Frida Kahlo Fans Are Tweeting Stunning Images Of The Artist On Her Birthday And Get Ready To Swoon

Break out the party hats and flower crowns, mi gente!

One hundred and thirteen years ago today, on July 6 Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was born at her family home called La Casa Azul. As one of the most recognized figures in art history, Kahlo has a legacy that continues to be embraced even decades after her death. Hailed as a feminist, LGBTQ+, and Chicano icon, the beloved artist continues to live on in the hearts of those who love her.

This truth is particularly apparent this year. Sixty-six years after her death, Kahlo’s friends are celebrating her birthday, so much so that #HappyBirthdayFrida is trending on Twitter with some of the most amazing artwork.

Such as…

This beautiful graphic of the artist totally in her element.

And this photograph of the artist in all of her glory.

Just look at Kahlo in this beautiful self-portrait.

This brilliantly beautiful portrait of Kahlo being an artist.

This very sweet piece of fan art.

And this boldly painted piece in a unique style.

While this one isn’t an image we love the English National Ballet for sharing this one.

You’ve got to love the 3D aspects of this one.

This divine portrait shows the beauty in all of her glory.

And finally, this passionate virtual piece really makes us wonder what Kahlo would have done with new mediums if she was alive today.

Happy Birthday, Frida!

Finding the best psychologist or mental health worker for you isn’t an easy feat.

For one, finding someone you feel you can trust enough to open up to about your insecurities and inner turmoils is hard enough but finding someone who is covered by your health insurance can be even more difficult. On top of that, factors like location and time often come into play. Women of color in particular face a certain type of challenge when it comes to mental health care. According to the American Psychological Association, just 5.3% of psychologists in the United States are Black. Eighty-three percent are white. This means finding a mental health provider who can connect with your personal experiences can be beyond difficult.

We asked our users on Fierce for mental health provider tips and received some pretty inciteful answers.

Check them out below!

“Ask about sliding scales (cost based on income), check with insurance provider, apply for government-funded health care benefits, seek support from your child’s school—can refer you to a provider, college students can ask about on-campus services, workplace can also direct you to resources. Being resourceful is so important especially when it comes to our well-being. Hope this helps.” –karinalizlu

Cardi B fans know the rapper most for her hit tunes but when it comes to her extravagant claws she also has a cult following.

The “WAP” rapper has long made the effort to complete just about every one of her killer red carpet and Instagram looks with ultra-long, ultra-fierce nail looks that could give just about anyone a run for their money. So it’s no wonder that when it came to celebrating her 28th birthday this past weekend that the big-time rapper queen did it with a bang and a nail look that could shred any other manicure to pieces.

As part of her birthday celebrations over the weekend, Cardi B unveiled some pretty big news about her upcoming collaboration with Reebok.

In a post shared with her Instagram account, Cardi appeared in an ultra-blue laundry room setting with a nail look created by artist Jenny Bui to match. Cardi B’s manicure was done in an array of blues and white with the Reebok shoe logo emblazoned on each nail.

“I’m kicking off my birthday weekend by announcing I am officially dropping my first ever Reebok x Cardi Footwear Collection on 11/13!!” she wrote in the post. “As my birthday gift to my loyal fans, I’m dropping limited pairs TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT EST on Reebok.com. #ReebokxCardiB.”

Cardi B’s new Reebok collection is set to debut Nov. 13

The star’s shoe collab with Reebok will be available for purchase on November 14 on reebok.com. The shoes, which were designed by Cardi herself, are “laced with a whole lotta attitude.” They’re also surprisingly low-key.

“Nobody does it bigger than Cardi B—so you know we had to go all the way colossal for her birthday. The new Club C Cardi is designed in collaboration with Cardi herself, the conductor of all things luxe. And the attitude’s in the details. It’s snatched to perfection with a stacked sole and juuust the right amount of that razor-sharp Cardi edge… Cardi B always brings the heat,” Rebook’s description of the shoe says. “She brings it from the beats to the streets in these signature Club C shoes for women. They take design cues from high fashion, streetwear and Cardi’s personality to create a stand-out style. High shine patent leather and an exaggerated height represent her place in the industry. A see-through midsole and outsole symbolizes Cardi’s realness and openness.”

The shoes comes in chalk, matte gold, and core black in colors.

The Grammy Award-winning artist revealed that her new line of Reebok sneakers will be $100 a pop. Cardi signed a deal with the brand two years ago in November 2018. Fashion collabs are hardly new for her, of course. The mother of one had collaborated in the past with brands like Balenciaga, Steve Madden, Tom Ford, and Fashion Nova.
