Rep. Robert Garcia Called Elon Musk a D*ck—Now The Administration Is Coming for Him
Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA) made headlines after he called Elon Musk a d*ck. The congressional hearing and the media interview he conducted a week ago went viral on social media. People celebrated the representative’s rhetoric about Musk and what he sees as an attack on the federal government.
However, one person was not thrilled with how Rep. Garcia spoke about Musk: President Donald Trump. The representative recently shared a letter he received from the U.S. Attorney General asking questions about his rhetoric.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) received a letter from the U.S. Attorney General after calling Elon Musk a d*ck
In the letter, the U.S. Attorney General states that they have received requests for information and clarification on something Rep. Garcia said. Specifically, the U.S. Attorney General calls attention to Rep. Garcia’s quote about stopping Elon Musk.
“What the American public wants is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight,” Rep. Garcia said during the CNN interview. “This is an actual fight for democracy.”
The interview came after Rep. Garcia called Musk a d*ck and likened him to a d*ck pic. The language about Musk has clearly angered the Trump administration.
Rep. Garcia is not backing down
In an interview with Jen Psaki, Rep. Garcia stood by his statements and refused to bow to pressure.
“It’s pretty clear that they are trying to not just intimidate me but intimidate other members of Congress who are actively opposing and criticizing Donald Trump and Elon Musk from actually speaking,” Rep. Garcia told Psaki. “It’s crazy that they want to investigate me for essentially using a metaphor and for taking on Elon Musk.”
Instead, Rep. Garcia continued pointing out what he said was Musk’s attempt to get more tax cuts for the wealthy. He made it clear that he saw this as the federal government’s attempt to “police language.” In particular, Rep. Garcia says they are using policing language that is not friendly to the current administration.
Rep. Garcia isn’t the only congressperson of color being threatened for speaking up
Border Czar Tom Homan is attempting to throw his weight around against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). In an interview with Fox News, Homan bemoaned that the congresswoman was making the job of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents difficult. He claimed that her educating people on their rights was hindering ICE raids.
“I’ve asked D.O.J., ‘Where is that line of impediment of interference?’ Now, if someone stands in your way and prevents you from arresting someone, puts their hands on you, that’s impediment,” Homan told Fox News host Bill Hemmer. “But, what line is telling people to hide from ICE, not open the door. Where do you cross that line of impediment? So, I have simply asked the Department of Justice to give me that line.”
It is also worth noting that Homan’s response to Hemmer is after Hemmer asked if other people should be going after AOC.
The hypocrisy lies with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) own actions
In 2021, CNN reported on a comment liked by Rep. Greene’s Facebook page. The comment suggested shooting and killing Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). The Republican politician attempted to distance herself from social media, claiming that she couldn’t be sure who liked it since her page had been run by multiple people.
Additionally, CNN reported that Rep. Greene liked comments calling for the death of FBI agents she claimed were part of the “deep state.” Rep. Greene was also accused of being involved in the January 6th attempted insurrection and fanning the flames.
Yet, there have been no letters or calls for her to change her rhetoric, especially not from the Republican Party.
