Jon Hamm Is a Full-On Bad Bunny Stan Now and the Nickname Benito Gave Him Has Us Losing It
Jon Hamm wants everyone to know that he is a Bad Bunny stan. The “Mad Men” actor was recently on the TODAY Show and spent some time gushing over Bad Bunny. Apparently, this appreciation of the Puerto Rican entertainer has been brewing for a long time. When the two appeared on “SNL” together recently, Hamm’s love of Bad Bunny only seemed to grow deeper.
Jon Hamm wants you to know that he loves Bad Bunny
Jon Hamm recently shared his deep appreciation for Bad Bunny during an interview with Savannah Guthrie on TODAY. First, Guthrie confirmed with Hamm that Bad Bunny’s nickname for him is “Jon Jamón” and we low-key love this. The actor is clearly a fan of Bad Bunny and the rest of the interview just confirms it. He definitely wants to make it to one of “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” singer’s Puerto Rican residency shows this summer.
“Well, we’re hoping to go to Puerto Rico. I’m excited because he’s doing this residency where he’s doing a month and a half of shows in Puerto Rico,” Hamm told Gutherie. “First of all, I think it’s really cool that he’s going back to his home, to really kind give back to the fans. He’s reserving the first four, five or 10 shows, or whatever it is, for only residents of Puerto Rico, which is so cool.”
Bad Bunny made an announcement earlier this year of a first-of-its-kind residency in Puerto Rico. The singer is offering a special run of shows at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The first few shows are only open for Puerto Rican residents and can only be purchased in person at the venue. The rest are available to everyone.
The run of shows is another example of Bad Bunny fully standing in his Puerto Rico love era. The singer’s latest album is a love letter to Puerto Rico. This run of shows is a show of love and sharing what he thinks makes Puerto Rico so special.
Hamm’s love of Bad Bunny’s music during the interview is everything
The two stars really cut it up on the “SNL50” special and he seemed to lean into the nickname of Jon Jamón. Even Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were in on the joke. During the interview on the TODAY Show, Hamm showered Bad Bunny with praise for his music. The Puerto Rican superstar is known for dropping bangers and Hamm is not too good to fall in love with the music too.
“He’s a really nice guy. And he’s funny. And he’s fun and his music is awesome,” Hamm said during the interview. He added: “You can’t listen to his music and not smile. I just love his story. […] He’s funny. He’s an ‘SNL’ guy, too. They love him over there.”
Seeing Hamm share the same love we have to Bad Bunny is *chef’s kiss*. We know how incredible San Benito is and it is good to see more people, especially celebrities, understand the same thing.
