Jennifer Lopez Talks New Skincare Line, Denies She’s Ever Had Botox: ‘I’m Not That Person’

Jennifer Lopez is as famous for her dewy, glowing skin as she is for her acting, singing, and dancing. And like a fine, wine the Bronx-born triple threat just keeps getting better with age. Let’s be honest: JLo looks as hot now as she did in the ’90s.

Finally, JLo has decided to let the public in on some of her secrets. That’s right, JLo has created a skincare line.

The line is called JLo Beauty and its dropping on January 1st.

As of now, the line includes eight products, a “Gel Cream Cleanser”, a “Multitaskting Serum”, a sheet mask, a “Wonder Cream”, a “Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizer”, an eye cream, a tinted moisturizer and an oral skin supplement. According to Lopez, she was intimately involved in the creation of all of them.

“The past three years, we’ve been working on the products, but we finally got them right,” she said in an interview with People. “I think I drove everybody a little bit crazy because I didn’t want to put my name on anything that didn’t work or wasn’t exactly what I wanted it to be.”

Ever the perfectionist, JLo claims that her skincare products went through one hundred rounds of product development before she was satisfied with the outcome.

Recently, JLo made headlines for claiming that she’s never gotten Botox. And if that’s true, maybe we can learn a thing or two about skincare from her.

In a recent interview with The New York Post, JLo shot down rumors that her youthful appearance is the result of a doctor’s intervention.

“I haven’t ever had Botox to this day. I’m not that person,” she said. “I don’t have anything against people doing that; it’s just not my thing. I’m more about a natural approach to skincare.”

And indeed, JLo Beauty does seem to rely on natural ingredients, the primary one being olive oil.

“The hero ingredient and the basis of the line was kind of a secret that my mom and aunt had from a very young age, which is olive oil. It’s nature’s secret ingredient which we don’t use enough of,” she told People. “They would use it on their skin and on their body, their face and their hair to get like a glow and to highly hydrate and moisturize.”

The slogan for JLo Beauty is “beauty has no expiration date.” That’s a mantra we can get behind.

JLo Beauty will be available on its website on January 1st in Sephora stores on January 14th. Pre-order all of the products here.

While the United States is as of publication, has vaccinated over 75 million people against COVID-19 since mid-December, the rest of the world is still catching up. Poorer countries, for example, are struggling to procure enough vaccines for essential workers–let alone their entire population.

Luckily, certain charitable business are making it their mission to get vaccines to the most needy. For example, anti-poverty organization Global Citizen has organized a charity concert with the aim of getting COVID-19 vaccines to developing countries.

Selena Gomez will be hosting the concert, called “VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World”. And none other than Jennifer Lopez will be headlining.

Selena Gomez took to Twitter to announce her involvement in the exciting project. “I’m honored to be hosting ‘VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World,’ ” she wrote.

“This is a historic moment to encourage people around the world to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them, call on world leaders to share vaccine doses equitably and to bring people together for a night of music in a way that hasn’t felt possible in the past year. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Jennifer Lopez also took to Twitter to announce her involvement with VAX Live, saying that she is “calling for equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution for all”. That’s a statement we can get behind!

Jennifer Lopez isn’t the only superstar performing. Other acts will include J Balvin, H.E.R., and the Foo Fighters.

Global Citizen has one goal: to raise $22 billion for global vaccinations via corporate and philanthropic donors. They’re hoping VAX Live will bring awareness to their efforts.

“There are 27 million healthcare workers globally who don’t have access to the vaccine,” said Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans to the Associated Press. “I’m 38 years old, and it’s not ethical for me to have access to the vaccine before these heroic first responders and community health workers. So we need governments to start urgently donating those doses.”

Tom Hart, the executive director for another anti-poverty organization, The ONE Campaign, also reiterated the importance of getting vaccine doses into the hands of developing countries.

“Low-income countries not only need this welcome fundraising effort; they need access to COVID-19 vaccine doses,” Tom Hart said.

“The United States has secured over 550 million excess doses that could be used to help end the global pandemic faster.”

You can catch VAX LIVE on ABC, CBS, and iHeartMedia stations on 8:00 p.m. ET on May 8th. It will also be airing on Fox starting at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT the same day. You’ll also be able to catch an extended version on Global Citizen’s YouTube channel on May 8th as well.

Grooming habits should be a matter of personal choice, but thanks to generations of the patriarchy telling women how they should look, what they should wear, and how they should take care of their bodies, that isn’t always the case. Thankfully, more and more brave women are embracing their natural beauty and that includes their own body hair.

Lourdes Leon showing off her natural arm pit hair is the normalization of body hair we all need.

Whether it’s on the red carpet or in a photo with her mom, Madonna, Lourdes Leon has a relationship with her body hair we can all admire. For instance, he two posed for a rare selfie on April 10, and Leon’s natural look moved us another step closer to normalizing visible body hair.

The sweet image is captioned: “Like Pieces of your Heart Walking around outside of you #lola.”

‘Lola’ is the nickname of Madonna’s eldest child, whom she shares with Cuban personal trainer-actor Carlos Leon.

The fashion icon’s post has received more than 440,000 ‘likes’ with many fans praising her daughter’s decision to embrace her natural body hair – with comments including “two beautiful, strong women” and “beautiful mother with her gorgeous daughter.”

Leon has never been shy about embracing her natural beauty.

Her mother has pushed beauty boundaries for decades, so it makes sense the 24-year-old model would choose to do the same. In November 2018, Lourdes generated headlines when she showed off her unshaved armpits and legs on the red carpet at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Gala, just weeks after she turned heads for the same reason on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week.

Earlier this year, in February, she also showed off a glimpse of armpit hair in a new fashion campaign for Marc Jacobs.

It seems that Lourdes may even have been inspired by her famous mom when it comes to ditching the razor. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in 2010, the singer said: “Going to high school, I saw how popular girls had to behave to get the boys. I knew I couldn’t fit into that.

“So I decided to do the opposite. I refused to wear makeup, to have a hairstyle. I refused to shave. I had hairy armpits.”
