Airbnb’s Latest Updates Are Giving “Todo Tranqui” Travel Vibes. Check Them Out Before Your Next Trip
Let’s be real. As much as we all enjoy going on vacation or taking a trip, there’s no denying that there are some factors that make you think “¡Qué hueva!” and have you second-guessing everything.
Pero, what if I told you that Airbnb can help alleviate some of the pain points of traveling?
Yes. We are talking about the Airbnb that you use to book a house for a bachelor party with your compas or a cute beach house for a weekend getaway with your significant other.
At its core, the platform remains a go-to for folks looking to book a unique stay. But last year, Airbnb integrated “services” and “experiences” into its app. With these additions, users have been able to book “services,” such as having a chef cook for them. And “experiences,” such as a lucha libre match in Mexico City.
The new integrations were well-received by customers. But at their 2026 Summer Release Event, the platform made major announcements that, quite frankly, got us excited for our next trip. They consisted of some very welcome additions to their offerings.
However, there was one plot twist we didn’t expect in 2026: you’ll now be able to book hotel stays through Airbnb. Wild, right?!
But anyways, let’s get into some of the new offerings coming to Airbnb that we think could come in handy for your next trip!
You can now have grocery delivery on Airbnb.
Say goodbye to “el mandado” on your next trip with Airbnb. With their new grocery delivery service, you’ll be able to order groceries ahead of time and have them waiting for you at your Airbnb. You can also place an order anytime during your trip.
No more chaotic trip to the supermarket before you can actually get your vacation started? WE’RE IN!
Our prayers were answered, and now we have luggage storage
We kid you not, when Airbnb’s Co-Founder & CEO Brian Chesky mentioned this new service, the audience erupted, and rightfully so!
If you’re like us, you’ve probably had to carry around your maleta on a trip where you landed too early for check-in or had a flight way past check-out. With Airbnb’s new luggage storage service, you’ll be able to view drop-off locations and store your luggage.
Now the shocker: You will be able to book hotels through Airbnb.
Starting this summer, users will be able to book boutique and independent hotels that “feel like Airbnb”. So while there will be a change of scenery from staying at someone’s home, you can expect the properties to still have a different vibe than staying at a big chain.
Excited about the World Cup Season? Yeah, Airbnb too!
This last mention is not necessarily a service that will make or break your next trip, but it is something that we thought would be fun to share as we head into World Cup season.
The hype for the Mundial is real, and Airbnb partnered up with FIFA to create 70 experiences for fans to enjoy! From training on the pitch with Argentine legend Javier Mascherano in Miami to customizing your own jersey in Brooklyn with Sergio Mareco, one of the lead designers behind the FIFA World Cup 26 kits, fans can tap into experiences across Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and more cities.
But there you have it. These are just a few of the announcements from Airbnb’s 2026 Summer Release event that we wanted to put you on to. However, this is only scratching the surface. You can find out more here.
We hope that our breakdown provides some peace of mind for the upcoming trip being planned in the group chat or for that friend who always ends up booking everything. We see you!
