1. Selena (1997)

There’s no doubt that the role of Selena became a defining moment of J.Lo’s career. The movie solidified Lopez’s rise to fame and saw her become the first Latina in the United States to earn $1 million for a starring role in a feature film. All while representing one of the most impactful and loved Latina artists. J.Lo’s performance as Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, the “Queen of Tejano music” will forever be remembered.

2. Green Versace Dress (2000)

Twenty years have passed since J.Lo appeared at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000 wearing the infamous green Versace dress but to this day it remains one of the most talked about runway moments of all time. Fun fact: Google Images was invented because of the high demand of users wanting to see a picture of Lopez in the dress. Of course, the dress has proven to be more than just a blip in fashion history. In 2019, J.Lo walked in the Versace show wearing a redesigned version of the dress to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it. There’s only one word to describe this: Timeless.

3. The Wedding Planner (2001)

Columbia Pictures

Who doesn’t love rom coms? Especially when Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey play the love interests. Lopez’s dance moves once again prove her talent as a dancer in the tango scene. To date, The Wedding Planner remains a fan favorite among J.Lo’s supporters.

4. “Jenny From the Block”

In 2002, Jennifer Lopez released “Jenny From the Block,” one of her most popular singles, which at one point reached number three on the U.S. BillBoard Hot 100. The song is about how international fame and wealth could not change the girl from the Bronx. The song also ultimately inspired one of J.Lo’s lovingly crafted nicknames.

5. “On the Floor”  music video

As of today, the 2011 music video featuring Pitbull, a.k.a Mr. Worldwide has 1.6 billion views on YouTube. “On the Floor” is the most viewed of J.Lo’s music videos. It is an extravagant and lavish production. The music video shows Lopez as the queen of the club, but also as the talented dancer that she is.

6. J.Lo’s appearance on James Corden Carpool Karaoke in 2016

The highlight of her appearance is when Corden grabbed her phone to text one of her famous contacts which included Cristiano Ronaldo, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, and Demi Lovato. Corden decided to text Leonardo DiCaprio, asking for suggestions to “cut loose,” he signed the text “J.Lo (you know, from the block).” They got a response back a few minutes later that read: “Tonight boo, boo? Club-wise?” This is for sure was a hilarious and priceless moment. Who has so many famous A-listers in their contacts? The one and only Jenny from the Block.

7. Met Gala (2018)

The 2018 Met Gala had some of the most glamorous looks for its “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” theme. J.Lo totally rocked the theme with a Balmain gown full of gems and a feathered train, this look earned the 7th spot for some of Jennifer Lopez’s most iconic moments.

8. Hustlers (2019)

Youtube/STX Films

J.Lo’s role as Ramona, a leader of a group of women who scam and drug rich men, was a career-best performance, but it did not receive the recognition it deserved. After the Academy Awards released the 2020 nominees, many noticed that Lopez had been snubbed for a Best Supporting Actress nomination. J.Lo’s solo pole dancing scene in Hustlers shows how much dedication and passion she puts into her roles. She took some of her training and skills for the Hustlers movie into her 2020 Super Bowl halftime show.

9. Super Bowl Half-time (2020)

The Super Bowl is one of the most extravagant live shows and Jennifer Lopez lived up to the moment. Her performance alongside Shakira is one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows of all time. She proudly wore the Puerto Rican flag as she sang alongside her daughter, Emme Maribel Muñiz. J.Lo’s performance was a fun and uplifting celebration of Latinx heritage as she sang alongside Colombian artist, J. Balvin. Also, let’s not forget the #JLoTikTokChallenge that went viral all over TikTok.
