We’re only a few episodes into this latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and Denali Foxx has come through with plenty of Mexican representation. As one of the frontrunners, she has proudly worn stunning looks inspired by her heritage.

It’s Denali duck-walking as Quetzalcoatl for me.

On season 13 of Drag Race, Denali, who is also Jewish, is one of three Latina drag queens competing for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” The other Latinas are the self-proclaimed “Dominican Doll” Kandy Muse and Olivia Lux, who is of Puerto Rican descent.

Denali first represented her Mexican heritage during the “Trains for Days” runway challenge where she rocked a gown inspired by the Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl. When she wound up in the bottom that week, Denali got to prove herself as a lipsync assassin in that look.

In the most-watched Lip Sync for Your Life of the season on YouTube, Denali hit every beat of Crystal Waters’ “100% Pure Love.” She vogued and duck-walked down the runway. RuPaul didn’t even deliberate in announcing Denali as the winner of that lipsync.

Denali also served Día de los Muertos realness.

After back-to-back lip sync wins, Denali avoided having to lipsync last week when was she deemed safe thanks to her Día de los Muertos-inspired look. The challenge was the Bag Ball where the drag queens had to construct a lookout of handbag materials. Denali served “Como La Flor” realness with her colorful dress and headpiece that was adorned with flowers.

“I’m a Mexican, not a Mexi-cant,” Denali wrote in a post about the look. She gave herself a well-deserved pat on the back, adding, “Eso- and I can’t stress this enough, mamona.”

Denali is a proud Alaskan drag queen now based in Chicago.

Not only has Denali represented her Mexican heritage, but she’s also proudly repped other parts of her background. As the first queen born in Alaska to compete on the show, she entered the workroom in an ice skater outfit and ice skates. In her first Lip Sync for your Life, Denali became the first queen to lip sync with ice skates on.

Denali is currently based in Chicago, so she put together a special video highlighting the city’s drag scene. All Stars 5 winner Shea Couleé’s voice intros the “Chicago Drag Excellence” video that includes appearances from past Drag Race alums like Detox, Laila McQueen, The Vixen, and Dida Ritz. Denali’s season 13 sister Kahmora Hall also serves face to “100% Pure Love” in the fierce visual.
