When Lex couldn’t find a space that celebrated women the way they deserved, she built her own. In 2022, she founded Hot Girl Market, a monthly event that brings together creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. What began as a local pop-up for women in the vintage and small business scenes has grown into a thriving movement, expanding from Los Angeles to New York City and inspiring a new generation of creators to sell, connect, and support one another.
Each market feels like a cultural snapshot: racks of vintage fashion alongside handmade jewelry, art, and home goods; tarot readings next to tooth gems and tattoos; food, music, and laughter blending into something that feels distinctly our own. It’s empowerment, reimagined as a shopping experience.
Extending that energy into print, Lex launched Hot Girl Zine. This platform highlights Latinas and women in creative fields, including artists, designers, and storytellers whose work deserves to be seen and celebrated nationwide.
“People will know my wave hit when Hot Girl Market does a collab with Rare Beauty and Selena Gomez is on the cover of Hot Girl Zine,” she says. Until then, she’s staying consistent, the rule she lives by. “If you’re unsure or scared, do it anyway. Experience is the best teacher, and consistency beats everything else.”
