Each year, the American Music Awards show us that they are like the cool, younger prima of the GRAMMYs. Not only does this 48-year-old awards show take itself much less seriously than the GRAMMYs, but attendees always seem to be having a lot more fun, too.

This year, the AMAs were hosted by none-other than Cardi B, who didn’t fail to entertain us while keeping the show moving along — because no one was expecting any less from Bardi. But let’s be honest: the primary reason we watch any awards show is to see what the celebs are wearing. And this year, Latino celebs showed up and showed out for the AMAs.

From Jennifer Lopez to Becky G to Bad Bunny, Latinos stole the show on the red carpet. Here is a list of our favorite fashion moments from the 2021 AMAs.

Of course, we have to start the list off with the Queen of rap herself, Cardi B. This year’s AMA host donned multiple outfits throughout the night, starting with the above Schiaparelli dress by Daniel Roseberry paired with a golden face mask. She continued to up the ante with more and more elaborate outfit changes as she took the AMA stage. Wondering what she would wear next was one of the most entertaining parts of the show.

One of Cardi’s multiple outfits of the night was this flowing yellow-green Jean Paul Gaultier dress with sheer pant legs and a super cinched waist. It’s giving Bodak Yellow.

Cardi channeled her inner Celia Cruz and gave us #azucar with this form-hugging velvet purple dress with statement feathered shoulders.

Cardi B got her inner showgirl on with this high-slitted Alexandre Vauthier dress that was complemented by a towering feathered headpiece from Vauthier’s FW21 couture collection.

Our favorite girl finished the night with a beautiful white Miss Sohee gown featuring a jewel-encrusted hood.

JLo may not have walked the red carpet, but she showed up on stage wearing a chic little wedding dress while performing the song “On My Way (Marry Me)” from her upcoming movie “Marry Me.”

Becky G turned heads (as always) when she walked the red carpet in a purple cutout minidress by Raisa Vanessa.

Of course, we’re not going to forget about the stylish gents who attended the AMAs. Nuyorican rising star Anthony Ramos walked the red carpet in a gorgeous grey velvet suit with a subtle pattern.

Colombiana singer-songwriter Kali Uchis wore a lingerie-inspired outfit made up of a pink silk bustier, barely-there booty shorts and a matching silk robe.

“Westside Story” remake star Rachel Zegler arrived in a tulle-heavy floor-length black and white ball gown by Latina designer Carolina Herrera.

Bad Bunny

Leave it to Bad Bunny to march to the beat of his own drum. Rather than donning a tired old suit or tux like most male celebs do to big events, Benito showed up in a mint-colored puffy coat, grey trousers and accessorized with a shell necklace and sunglasses. Esta-muy-bien.
