Bolero Meets R&B in New Girl Ultra Single and Music Video for “Rosas”
Mexico City’s R&B queen, Girl Ultra, released her new single and music video for “Rosas“, which is bolero-infused Latin R&B paired with eclectic instrumentals. This is Girl Ultra’s first single since 2019’s EP Nuevos Aires.
We had the chance to talk to Mariana aka Girl Ultra for an interview here at Latido Music by mitú, where she walked us through the creative process and themes of the song, as well as working on the music video.
About the song’s lyrics, Girl Ultra said it’s about “that moment when you try to find the words to express your feelings for somebody. There’s a desperate gut feeling that you cannot explain. That particular moment when you’re ripping your heart out to tell somebody something.”
The music video was shot on film and directed by Cole Santiago, who also directed “LA NOCHE DE ANOCHE” by Bad Bunny and Rosalía.
