The U.S. Capitol is on lockdown after far-right Trump supporters violently stormed the building. Congress was in the process of certifying the election results when the group of rioters bgan to fight federal police forcing their way into the Capitol.
Trump supporters have breached the Capitol in a terrifying scene of political chaos.
Senators and representatives were at the U.S. Capitol building were in the process of certifying the election results when a mob breached security. The pro-Trump mob broke through security fencing and federal police to storm the Capitol building. Legislators have been evacuated as the mob roams the building breaking into offices and causing damage.

Rioters waving Trump 2020 flags and wearing MAGA hats have been photographed breaking into different offices and destroying property. The mob attack on the U.S. Capitol comes after President Trump’s “Save America” rally. President Trump and his supporters have been pushing debunked conspiracy theories that the election was stolen from him.
Some politicians have spoken out against the violence, including Sen. Mitt Romney. The Republican senator from Utah is calling out the rhetoric that led to this violent display.
“This is what the president has caused today, this insurrection,” Sen. Romney told The New York Times.
People are accussing the president of inciting the unruly mob.
The president and his allies are urging the pro-Trump rioters to be peaceful after breaking into the Capitol. President Trump and his allies have spent months trying to attack the legitimacy of the election. President Trump launched a series of legal challenges in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada to change the results.
Most recently, there was audio leaked of an hour-long phone call from President Trump to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. President Trump begged Secretary Raffensperger to find 11,780 votes to swing the election to President Trump.
Explosives have been found outside the Capitol.
The National Guard has been deployed in Washington to get control of the MAGA rioters. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has also deployed members of the Virginia Guard and Virginia State Troopers. Mayor Muriel Bowser has implemented a 6 p.m. curfew in an attempt to quell the violence.
