AOC Is Calling On Democrats To Hold No Punches In Response To Amy Coney Barrett’s Confirmation

It’s official. Amy Coney Barrett, the judge who is opposed to marriage equality and the Affordable Care Act, is a Supreme Court justice. Barrett has two years of experience as a judge and her confirmation to the Supreme Court has renewed the fight by Democrats, especially AOC.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is ready to fight after the latest Supreme Court confirmation.

Amy Coney Barrett is President Trump’s third Supreme Court appointee and her confirmation has reenergized Democratic politicians. Rep. AOC used the confirmation to call for the Democrats to step up and fight like Republicans.

During President Obama’s last year, the Republican-led Senate refused to hold hearings for his appointee Merrick Garland 8 months before the election. Sen. Mitch McConnell at the time claimed it was inappropriate to hold a hearing during President Obama’s last year. Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation was rushed through with only 8 days till an election.

Barrett’s confirmation is energizing Democratic voters and what they want to see from a Democratic-controlled government.

Democratic voters have long been calling for politicians to pushback against the Republican Party. A common sentiment among the voters is that the Democrats in power have not been forceful enough on behalf of the voters. Rep. AOC is a politician elected to power in the name of that frustration.

An argument has been made to change the court by following past precedent.

Democratic candidates and politicians are calling the Republican Party’s move to confirm Barrett a sham. The argument used is that millions of American have already voted and the confirmation should have been held until the election. Democrats claim that if President Trump loses then Barrett’s confirmation goes against the will of the American voters.

Voters are hoping for a more vocal Democratic Party.

There is one week before the election and millions of people have already voted. Millions more will vote before Nov. 3 and both parties are doing everything in their power to win the election. Democrats saw a historic surge in donations after Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death through ActBlue. It is clear that the Democratic Party is motivated but will it translate into votes.

Something stinks in the White House and it’s not just Donald Trump and his inability to cope with being a loser.

Rudy Giuliani’s campaign effort to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election continues to waft through hearing rooms like a rotten gaseous scent… which, according to video recordings, not unlike the one Guiliani is suspected of releasing during Wednesday night’s conspiracy-filled hearing in Lansing, Michigan.

Giuliana stirred up a rash of cackles this week when the audible sounds of his stomach were heard during the hearings.

Four hours into the lengthy event, two fart sounds could be heard while Giuliani delivered his speeches. During the Michigan hearing, Michigan state Rep. Darrin Camilleri asked Guiliani a question about the recent New York Times story which reported that Giuliani talked with President Donald Trump about seeking pardons for himself last week.

“The discussions between Mr. Trump and Mr. Giuliani occurred as the former New York mayor has become one of the loudest voices pushing baseless claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, which Mr. Trump still proclaims publicly that he won,” NYT reported. “Many of Mr. Trump’s longtime aides have refused to do his bidding to try to overturn an election that President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. won by nearly seven million votes. But Mr. Giuliani has repeatedly thrust himself into the spotlight to cast doubt on the results, which has ingratiated him with the president.”

Guiliani objected to Rep. Camilleri’s questions and accused him of defamation.

“I will ask that he be disciplined for that,” Giuliani requested into the microphone which picked up the first pedo sound.

Not 90 seconds later, Camilleri asked Giuliani to address Attorney General Bill Barr’s statement that federal prosecutors had yet to come across evidence of election fraud.

“The answer that I gave you was that they didn’t bother to interview a single witness,” Giuliani replied as another louder even larger sounding pedo came in through the mic.

It didn’t take long for Giuliani’s loud fart to go viral on Twitter.

HuffPost reporter Ryan Reilly shared the clip on Twitter on Wednesday night. It has since been viewed more than 1.6 million times.

Users were quick to note that Jenna Ellis, another attorney taking part in Giuliani’s campaign of lies about a Trump 2020 victory. (Which did not happen) could be seen reacting to the noise by glancing at him over her shoulder.

Like the hot air Giuliani blew into the hearing, there were quite a few bizarre moments that came about.

Giuliani brought in a parade of alleged election fraud witnesses who all managed to make outrageously conspiratorial and racist statements during the hearing. Plus, according to Buzzfeed, “Giuliani was not sworn in at the hearing, so he was under no legal obligation to tell the truth.”

One “witness,” Melissa Carone drew audible laughter during the hearing for her clown-like performance.

According to The Guardian, Carone is a contract worker for Dominion Voting Systems and “appeared before a Michigan house panel on Wednesday and insisted, without providing evidence, that tens of thousands of votes had been counted twice.” Her aggressive approach to her claims quickly drew viral attention on Twitter from users who were quick to compare her to a Saturday Night Live character.

Few people have faced as much criticism for such ridiculous things as has Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She’s even come under fire herself for a magazine cover. So it made sense when she reached out to Harry Styles over the weekend to tell him not to worry about the controversy over his recent Vogue cover.

AOC just recently faced a similar situation, when she received backlash over an expensive loaner suit she wore on the cover of Vanity Fair. So she was speaking from experience when she took to her Instagram Stories to take questions from her followers and offer up her take on all the brewing drama over Harry in a dress on the cover of Vogue.

Harry Styles appeared in Vogue while wearing a dress and the Internet took notice.

It was just week that the world was blessed with another history-making Vogue cover. For the first time ever in the magazine’s 127 year history, the cover featured a solo male. And it wasn’t just any male…it was pop star Harry Styles.

Inside the magazine, we were given more incredible images of Harry Styles in a big dress and, of course, controversy ensued. The pop star had just become the first man ever to cover Vogue all on his own, styled in a Gucci gown and shot by photographer Tyler Mitchell for the occasion. The accompanying profile discussed Harry’s love of clothing and general disregard for gendering garments.

Overall, the response seemed positive – with many celebrating his embrace of a more fluid future and the production of the images. But many conservative voices came out against the shoot, with firebrand Candace Owens taking the chance to complain about the cultural demise of “manly men.”

Now, even New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has waded into the fray. For the record, she thinks he looks hot.

But Rep. AOC was quick to defend the singer and assured him that “it looked bomb.”

Having faced her own drama related to magazine covers, AOC can be considered a bit of an expert on the matter. So it was no surprise when she took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend and spoke up about the Styles’ Vogue drama.

Her Instagram followers got right to the point: “What do you think abt Harry Styles wearing a dress on the cover of Vogue?” To which the Congresswoman replied, per Harper’s Bazaar: “It looks wonderful. The masculine and the feminine elements are balanced beautifully — the hair and jacket styling give me James Dean vibes too.”

“Some people are mad at it bc some folks are very sensitive to examining and exploring gender roles in society. Perhaps for some people it provokes some anger or insecurity around masculinity/femininity/etc. If it does, then maybe that’s part of the point. Sit with that reaction and think about it, examine it, explore it, engage it, and grow with it,” she added.

She then went a little deeper and examined the meaning behind creativity and art, asking “What’s the point of creating things if they don’t make people think? Or feel or reflect? Especially as an artist or creative? Who wants to see the same things all the time? And never explore their assumptions?”

“Anyways it looks bomb so,” she concluded with a shrug emoji.

A lot of other celebs, and Harry’s mum, agreed with AOC, with everyone from Sara Bareilles to Olivia Wilde, Elijah Wood, Kathy Griffin and others posting praise for the singer for once again pointing out that strictly defined, traditional gender roles are merely a social construct.
