Here’s Why Rob Schneider Loves Mexican Soccer So Much

Does the name Rob Schneider ring a bell? He made a name for himself playing The Richmeister in a classic Saturday Night Live sketch from the ’90s…

YOU probably remember him as the “You can do it” guy from Adam Sandler’s The Waterboy.

He’s also a huge fan of Mexican soccer. His favorite team? Tigres of Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL).

Tigres are based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. They recently won their fourth Liga MX championship. Guess who was there to celebrate with the team?

He’s even got his friend Adam Sandler wearing Tigres jerseys…

And his co-stars, too. Here’s Schneider with Twilight star Taylor Lautner.

Schneider is such a big fan that he’s gotten on the mic to cheer Tigres on during matches:

Wondering why Schneider loves Tigres so much? Because his wife, Patricia, is from Monterrey. And of course, she’s a Tigres fan.

Makes sense, doesn’t it?

But it wasn’t always that way. Here’s an old photo of Schneider wearing a Rayados of Monterrey jersey. Scandal!

Los Rayados are Tigres biggest rival. Tsk, tsk, Rob.

But wait – here he is wearing a Cruz Azul jersey during an old TV interview.

Busted! Well, probably not. The jerseys were probably gifts that Schneider received while visiting Mexico.

It’s clear that no matter what he wore in the past, Rob Schneider is down for Tigres to the death.
