At first, it seemed as if we were waiting forever for Disney Channel to premiere “Elena of Avalor.” Now, the first Latina-inspired Disney princess is unstoppable.
“Elena of Avalor,” which was announced in 2014 but made its official debut in the summer of 2016, is receiving the movie treatment this fall in a TV film called “Elena and the Secret of Avalor,” reports Deadline.
And the suspense is real!
Joining Aimee Carrero (the voice of Elena), Jenna Ortega, Chris Parnell, Carlos Alazraqui, and the rest of the small screen squad in this journey is the iconic, two-time Academy Award winner, Jane Fonda. She will portray an evil sorceress named Shurik.
The TV film, which combines “Sofia the First” and “Elena of Avalor,” reveals how Elena was imprisoned in a magical amulet by Shuriki. According to Deadline, the TV flick will also debut Elena’s anthem “My Time,” performed by Carrero.
Get it, queen!
“Elena and the Secret of Avalor” will premiere at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 20 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
