Mark David is a Chicano Afro-indigenous man, living in South LA, inspiring his peers through social media. @hoodprofet shares thoughts on his mixed race and Chicano origins through spoken word poetry, song and conversation.

“We demonize the folks that live in the hood. We forget that these are the same people that smile and take care of the kids and brush their teeth in the morning,” @hoodprofet says.

This Guy Takes Shaved Ice to a Whole New Level

If you’ve ever had a raspado (shaved ice)…

But wait – this unknown raspado wizard in a purple shirt doesn’t just do regular raspados.


He makes raspados on a stick.


Just look at those señoras in the back. They know they’re watching something special.

Señora #1: Que bárbaro, eh? Señora #2: Eyy.

And once he’s got that ice on a stick, this is how he decorates it:


He’s got that swirl move down. Once he adds all the syrup…


He hands off his masterpiece to another customer whose life has changed for the better.
