From Feid’s Monster Truck to Becky G’s Comment on Broken Hearts, Here’s What Went Down at Sueños Festival
The official kick-off to summer happened during Memorial Day weekend at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, with Sueños Festival.
Sueños had a stacked lineup with acts from a variety of different genres. We got trap from Eladio Carrion, reggaeton from Wisin Y Yandel, and some regional Mexican tunes from Grupo Firme.
We’re breaking down what happened!
Day One: Honoring the Legends
If there’s one thing the first day of Sueños did was give us a nice trip down memory lane.
Old school reggaeton was alive and well with sets from Ivy Queen, Chencho Corleone, Arcángel, and Wisin Y Yandel.
Ivy Queen sang some of her biggest hits like “La Vida Es Así,” “Quiero Bailar” and “Yo Perreo Sola Remix.” Despite the tech issues, the Queen did not disappoint and Chicago gave Ivy her much-deserved flowers.
Arcángel’s set was another one to die for. Hearing “Por Amar A Ciegas” from his 2008 album “El Fenomeno” was an out-of-body experience. Yes, we almost cried.
We even saw him backstage, where he said hi to us after his performance (cries in Spanish).
Other acts in Saturday’s lineup represent the new generation of artists making waves in music right now. From Gera MX, paopao, to El Alfa and Feid, they each brought the festival down with their incredible music.
paopao hit the stage earlier in the day and began Sueños Festival with a bang.
We got to hang out with her backstage after her performance and here’s what she had to say:
The festival was filled with many activations from different brands such as Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky and CÎROC Vodka Spritz. We joined in some activities with Buchanan’s where we got to hang out with Messiah. Check out our interview below:
However, Sueños Day One was nothing without the headliners Wisin Y Yandel and Feid.
Feid brought his popular monster truck to the Windy City and sang hits like “Chorrito Pa Las Animas, ”“Belixe,” and “Classy 101”. But the biggest surprise came when he showed up during Wisin Y Yandel’s set to sing “Yandel 150” for the first time!

The all-girls afterparty
Sueños Festival came prepared with the afterparties this year and we got the chance to experience one of them!
Our fun continued at the Sorry Papi afterparty, which was filled with so many photo opportunities, fun activities, and special performances.
If you haven’t heard of Sorry Papi, you have missed out.
Setting itself apart for its rule of “No Boys Allowed”, Sorry Papi was formed in Chicago with the goal of creating a safe space for women at the club. The first of its kind, Sorry Papi toured different cities across the United States and even had its activation at Sueños Festival.
The Sorry Papi afterparty was no different. The all-girl reggaeton party included performances by girl band Bella Dose, Young Miko, and Ivy Queen.
Ivy Queen was the most anticipated act of the night and she did not disappoint. Singing some of her classics, Ivy was met with the loudest and longest ovation after she finished her set. Moved to tears, Ivy offered some powerful words and advice before exiting.
The event was filled with so many empowering women that we walked away much more confident and sure of ourselves than ever before. Check out our experience below:
Day Two: Mexico takes over Sueños
Las botas, los sombreros, and the fits were everything on Sunday. Everyone was ready for what Day Two of Sueños would bring.
Sunday’s Lineup included: Young Miko, Chanell, Ryan Castro, Junior H, Becky G, Myke Towers, Eladio Carrion, Nicky Jam, and Grupo Firme.
Young Miko brought the trap kitty vibes to the fest and attendees went crazy. The crowd got hype and gave the up and coming artist a warm Chicago welcome.
Trap corridos also made noise on Sunday with Junior H while trap/hip hop made an appearance in both Eladio Carrion and Myke Towers’ set.
Sunday also brought a surprise guest to the Cîroc stand. VIP pass holders were able to not only enjoy a refreshing spritz by the brand but also a meet and greet with Jhayco.

One of our favorite moments from Sueños Day Two happened during Becky G’s set. A fan named Tony gave Becky G some beautiful roses, to which she replied, “This is a great way to fix a broken heart Tony,”. We shed a tear or two.
Becky G gave a powerful performance and dedicated her last song “Shower” to every person chasing their dreams.
And we cannot forget about Sunday’s headliners Grupo Firme!
Grupo Firme delivered in every aspect when it came to their performance. They provided a beautiful intro video for fans to watch and get excited. Once they came out, it was all screams. Eduin Caz flung some beer and even jumped into the crowd. It’s safe to say that their set was a 11/10.

Fans cheered, sang their hearts out, and some even came bearing gifts for their favorite artists. It was definitely a Sueño come true and we can’t wait for next year!
