Mexican-American singer and actress Becky G stars in her very first Super Bowl commercial for Michelob ULTRA, which airs this Sunday as the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals face each other at SoFi Stadium. mitú spoke with Becky about her upcoming projects and a possible reunion with BTS.

Becky G is in great company with Michelob ULTRA. The beer brand recruited legendary athletes and entertainers for its three commercials airing during the Super Bowl where all of them mingle at the Superior Bowl. In Becky’s commercial for Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold, the “Mala Santa” singer recalls all the gold she’s earned throughout her life: cadenas, rings, relojes, and beyond gold records, she is a 7-time platinum recording artist.

She’s showing hometown love to Inglewood.

The Big Game hits very close to home for Becky G. She was at the NFC Championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers, where the Rams secured their ticket to the Super Bowl. “I’ve never been to a Super Bowl ever before, and I get to go to one in my hometown of Inglewood, and so it’s going to be one to remember for sure,” said Becky.

For Becky, it meant a lot to be around her roots. “I was very emotional, even just driving to SoFi Stadium and knowing, like, wow, my grandma’s house is literally two minutes from here. The hospital I was born is across the street, and it doesn’t exist anymore, but it was literally right there. My grandfather was laid to rest just a couple of months ago at the Inglewood Cemetery. So it’s something that feels very full circle,” Becky continued.

And, like most of the world, we can’t wait to see Becky G grace the screen during a halftime show literally any minute now. And we learned the star plans to bring it home if and when that happens. “I would bring mariachis. I would go full LA to be honest, because I’m so proud to be Chicana and to be from here. I feel like I would have all of those Mexican-American threads throughout my performance, because that’s just who I am,” she says.

On being a host and executive producer for her new Facebook show, “Face to Face.”

Singer, actress and now host and executive producer — Becky G can do it all! But not without practice. It has taken her time to get prepared for this new season of her career where she is in charge of her own show.

“To be a host is a huge responsibility that I’ve stepped into with a lot of research. I’m an executive producer on the show as well, so having a lot of say on the topics that we are speaking on… We’re talking about mental health, bringing awareness to certain organizations that are making way in those spaces. I think it’s super important because I always say I don’t just talk about it. We got to be about it,” Becky shared.

Her stance collaborating with BTS again?

After her success with “Chicken Noodle Soup” with J-Hope and her epic reunions with BTS at award shows, we had to ask Becky about the possibility of reuniting with the k-pop group.

“Absolutely for sure, that would be incredible,” Becky shared. “I think we as artists have all been able to really show that music is a universal language and that it can connect and be a bridge for so many people and so many cultures and so getting to know BTS and hanging out with them… it means something to me because just to see what they’ve managed to create is massive.”
