After months of speculation and wedding delays, the singer and former baseball player officially confirmed on Thursday that their four-year-long relationship ended. In a joint statement, the pair announced that they'll remain friends and even continue working together.

A recent “like” by Lopez on Instagram however suggests that things might not be so friendly.

On April 16, Lopez's fans noticed she liked the not-so-cryptic quote by author r.h. Sin. “Don't make her think you care. when you have never given a fuck about her,” the post read.

“Uh oh, jlo liked this post?!” one user commented after noticing the 'like.' “What's going on!”

Just when we thought Coronavirus couldn't make things worse.

The couple released a joint statement to the Today show that read "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

In an IG story that has since been removed the baseball player showed a dedication of sorts to her and even tagged her.

The video includes photos of Lopez, their children, and their names drawn into sand.

In contrast, Lopez seemed to send off her relationship earlier this week with no tears, bad music, or signs that she was in mourning.

ARod and Lopez's relationship seemed to be on the unsteady ground for some time. The long-term couple revealed that earlier this year that they were ironing out some wrinkles together while in the Dominican Republic. With ARod missing from Lopez's Instagram for over a month now however, fans are asking questions.

It doesn't help that Lopez recently posted a series of photos to her Instagram, not just without ARod, but the engagement ring that he gave her too.

Over the weekend, Lopez posted a series of photos to her Instagram from the set of Shotgun Wedding, and her engagement ring from Rodriguez was noticeably missing.

“Keep calm and work on the weekend #ShotgunWedding #ProducerLife #SetLife #NuyoricanProductions," Lopez wrote in the post while also crediting producer Elaine Goldsmith Thomas and her makeup artist Kate Best.

Earlier last December Jennifer Lopez revealed on “Access Hollywood,” that she and fiancé Alex Rodriguez have had to postpone their wedding twice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know,” Lopez, who became engaged to Rodriguez in March 2019, explained. “We kind of have let it go for a second, and I don’t know what we’re going to do, we talk about small, big... And I think we just feel like, ‘Let’s just wait it out.’ There’s no rush, we’re good, everything’s cool and it’ll happen when the time is right. I feel like it’s not a huge priority to go and have a big wedding right now, that’s not what life is about."

During an interview with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show, "Radio Andy," and revealed that she and her fiancé have considered not getting married at all.

Speaking about Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's lasting 30-year plus partnership, Lopez said "At our age, we've both been married before, it's like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us?... It comes down to personal, what do you want to do? There's definitely no rush though."

"It was really sad because we were supposed to get married in June and we planned it all. So in March or April, we're looking down the pipe and we're going, 'This is maybe not going to happen.' Italy's the worst place in the world. And we were going to get married in Italy. I was like, 'Okay, we got to cancel everything,'" Lopez explained.

During an April 2020 at-home edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jennifer Lopez announced that she has had to put a pause on her wedding thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Now, over the weekend, a couple announced that they are "working through some things."

Over the weekend, after multiple sources confirmed to People Magazine that Lopez and Rodriguez had called it quits, Rodriguez told reporters that he was "not single."

His comments come just after he and JLO told People in a statement, "We are working through some things."

"They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up," a source confirmed.

Speaking to Ellen, Lopez explained how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her during this time.

“It did affect it a little bit,” Lopez told Ellen in an interview in which the TV host asked about her wedding plans. “So, we’ll see what happens now … I really don’t know what’s gonna happen now as far as dates or anything like that. We are just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. So, again, it’s just something we have to wait and see in a few months how this all pans out.”

Of course, leave it to DeGeneres to push for romance. The talk show host recommended that Lopez and Rodriguez try to do a "TikTok wedding" consider how popular their recent videos on the platform have been so far.

"It's something to think about," Lopez laughed. "I can't make any commitments right now."

The Latina queen and retired baseball superstar became engaged in March 2019.

For the two years that they've been dating, J-Lo and A-Rod have shared their lives with the public through their social media accounts, giving us a glimpse into the loving relationship that Lopez has called her "first ever good relationship". Their Instagram profiles are sprinkled with pictures of them jet-setting, attending premieres and galas, and taking mixed-family vacations in exotic locales together. In other words, they're very publicly living their best lives together.

However, a wrench was thrown into their happily-ever-after Sunday night when former MLB player Jose Canseco publicly accused A-Rod of cheating on Jennifer Lopez with his ex-wife, Jessica Canseco. In light of all this drama, we've compiled the definitive timeline of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's relationship, all the way from friends to fíances. Take a look!

Before the Puerto-Rican triple threat and the Dominican All-Star were Hollywood's reigning It Couple, they were mere acquaintances. The pair first met in 2005 at a Yankees vs. Mets Baseball game. At the time, Rodriguez was married to his first wife, Cynthia Scurtis, while Lopez was still married to Marc Anthony.

Lopez and Rodriguez reconnected twelve years later when they ran into each other at a restaurant. According to Lopez, they briefly said hello, but it was her who couldn't resist continuing the conversations. "After [lunch] I went outside," she said. "And for some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder". He then asked her out to dinner via text.

By March 2017, neither J-Lo nor A-Rod were trying to hide the fact that they were dating. During the month, they were spotted vacationing together in The Bahamas. ARod's sister also posted a selfie of herself with JLo, captioning it #miscuñis, which means things were moving along pretty nicely.

He showered on the compliments by calling her "an incredible mother" who "loves family".

We all know that one of the most crucial steps of a relationship is when your signficant other accompanies you to a work event. Lopez and Rodriguez crossed this milestone when A-Rod accompanied her to the premiere of "World of Dance"--a show she stars in and produces. It's for reasons like this that A-Rod calls her "one of the most brilliant business minds that [he's] ever met"!
