Greta Thunberg’s Subtle Clap-Back At Donald Trump Fo Her Time Person Of The Year Title Is Amazing

The Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg is just 16 years old but she sure knows how to get the best of men in power. The environmentalist who managed to grasp the attention of the world within a matter of year and refocus our attention on the health of our planet has done so by condemning world leaders through passionate speeches and damning essays. Speaking to the world at the  United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York in late September of this year, the teen shamed leaders for their inaction in the climate crisis. “You have stolen my childhood and my dreams with your empty words,” she spat out. “I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us for hope. How dare you?”

Her scalding words and personal strike at Donald Trump, during her visit at the time seemed triggering for the U.S. president who in true-Trump fashion mocked her on Twitter. In a belittling tweet the president wrote “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”

The tweet only inspired the bright men further, choosing to respond indirectly to his attack and embrace his title she added the words “a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future” to her Twitter bio.

The Swedish activist and inspiration is back at again, this time after Trump got a bit too green for his own good after she was giving Time’s title of Person of The Year.

On Wednesday, Trump, aged 73 and an extreme climate change denier, tweeted about Greta’s big TIME honor.

It was announced the Thunberg had been named Person of the Year by Time magazine this week for her uncompromising contribution to changing the course of the climate crisis. Most watching were relieved to find that the magazine had selected Thunberg in favor of a figure like Donald Trump. ( In 2016, the magazine selected Trump after his presidential election and disruption of traditional politics.) His selection had disgusted those who’d watched his horrendous campaign and attacks on women, people of color and other minorities throughout his campaign. So to say that the selection of a person devoted to changing the world for the better delighted most of us, would be an understatement.  Donald Trump however, proved to be extremely unhappy.

In a tweet about her newest title, Trump called the decision “ridiculous.” “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!” he tweeted. Taking a tip from his last attack, Thunberg used his words for her latest Twitter bio update.   Now it reads: “A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”

In case you’re still left wondering, who exactly is Greta Thunberg and what is she campaigning for, ask no further, we got you covered. Here are just a few facts on the relentless teenage activist who has called out world leaders and scolded their actions on this hugely important issue.

“People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction,” Thunberg told the summit. “And all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!”

Greta first gained notoriety after staging a “School Strike for Climate” in front of the Swedish parliament in August last year.

Thunberg’s idea of a global walk-out in the name of climate change drew millions of young people around the world demanding change. Last year, she was along in front of the Swedish parliament demanding action.

She continued to gain popularity after speaking at the U.N. Climate Talks in Poland in December of 2018. “This is the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced,” she said to UN secretary-general António Guterres before the conference. “First we have to realize this and then as fast as possible do something to stop the emissions and try to save what we can save.”

Her strike for climate change inspired young people all around the world, resulting in tens of thousands of students to join her #FridaysforFuture school walkout demonstrations. Young people in more than 123 countries skipped school to demand tighter climate policies and the reduction of greenhouse-gas emissions.

Her actions to fight against climate change caught the attention of the people at the Nobel Peace Prize.

Greta was nominated for a Nobel peace prize, which would make her the youngest recipient of the award won by the likes of Nelson Mandela, and Mikhail Gorbachev. “We have proposed Greta Thunberg because if we do nothing to halt climate change it will be the cause of wars, conflict, and refugees.” said Norwegian Socialist MP Freddy André Øvstegård in an interview with The Guardian.

She is leading by example.

The teenager traveled to the US on board a zero-emission sailboat to draw attention to the greenhouse gas emissions caused by air travel. A single round-trip flight between New York and California generates roughly 20 percent of the greenhouse gases your car emits in a year. In Sweden, she is said to be credited for the spread of the term ‘flygskam’ which translates to “flight shame,” which has encouraged Swedes to avoid traveling by air.

She has Asperger’s and won’t be shamed about it.

Four years ago, Greta was diagnosed with Asperger’s, a form of autism. “Being different is a gift,” she told BBC. “It makes me see things from outside the box…If I would’ve been like everyone else, I wouldn’t have started this school strike for instance.”

Her biggest inspiration is an American Civil Rights icon.

Rosa Parks is reportedly Greta Thunberg’s inspiration. “One person can make such a huge difference,” she said to Rolling Stone magazine about the civil rights activist who refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus.

Thunberg’s glare at President Trump is a social media mood.

Greta’s speech this Monday didn’t go down well with President Donald Trump, who has questioned climate change and has challenged every major U.S. regulation aimed at combating it. He took to twitter to mockingly comment on the 16-year-old activist: “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”

Her fight is not slowing down.

Greta continues to miss school on Fridays to protest climate change. This year on September 20, she led the largest climate strike in history, which included an estimated 4 million people across 161 countries to combat the use of fossil fuels and their catastrophic effects on global warming and future generations worldwide.

JLo And Shakira Are In Charge Of The Super Bowl Half Time Performance, But We Want To Know Who Will Be The Guest

There’s already so much stardom packed into one Super Bowl half time show with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performing, that it’s hard to think how they’re supposed to condense it into a half hour show. To make things even more interesting, the internet has been wondering, who’s appearing on stage as a guest. And there’s already a fan favorite. Here’s everything you need to know.

How will they cram so much superstardom into such a 30 minute-long performance?

There’s already enough talk about this year’s Super Bowl performance. Are JLo and Shakira really not getting along in the days leading up to their show? Which hits will they be performing? And now, most recently, who will be joining the two Latinas in the watched-by-the-entire-world program? Twitter just voted and if it’s any indication of what’s coming, it should be interesting.

Their performance at the big game has special meaning for J-Lo and Shakira.

During an interview with ET Canada, the two expressed their excitement to be representing the Latino community. “I love that the Super Bowl has two women performing this year, that they have two Latinos performing this year,” J-Lo said in the interview that aired last September. “This is a marker of a new time, not just for the NFL but for the country.” “I’m honored, I’m humbled, to be next to J-Lo, representing the Latino community,” Shakira added. “It’s such an important force in the United States,” added Shakira.

The world was astonished when it was announced in 2019 that not only would Jennifer Lopez be headlining the halftime show, but also Shakira.

Both Latinas are two of the biggest names in music on one worldwide stage. And sharing the stage on this occasion seems to have been producer Jay-Z’s idea, so how could Lopez and Shakira say no? The two women spoke with ET Canada at the time of the announcement in 2019. Lopez said, “I love that it’s in Miami, it is a very Latino town.”

Who does Twitter think should join Lopez and Shakira on the halftime show stage?

Billboard.com asked Twitter, “Who do you hope #Shakira & #JenniferLopez bring out as a guest during their Super Bowl halftime performance? Vote!”

The running rumor has been that Miami native Pitbull will be joining them.

In fact, it’s reported that Pitbull has been pushing to get invited on the halftime show stage and his fans initiated a Change.org petition to get him added to the billing for the show

Fans believe there are obvious reasons why Pitbull should be the guest appearance.

Almost immediately after J Lo and Shakira announced they were co-headlining the event fans started buzzing that Pitbull is a MUST-HAVE guest on the stage too. Turns out some big wigs in Miami feel exactly the same way.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Pitbull’s camp has had talks with J Lo’s team and the NFL about making the guest appearance happen.

More than that, TMZ reported that honchos at Hard Rock Cafe International are pushing for Mr. Worldwide to get on the stage—Remember, the game’s being played at Hard Rock Stadium.

Everyone’s aware of the groundswell to have an authentic Miami artist to rep the city—and the obvious choices are Pitbull or Gloria Estefan.

The thing is, Gloria’s already performed at 2 Super Bowls—’92 in Minneapolis and ’99 in—where else—Miami.

Sources connected to Roc Nation—which is producing the Halftime Show in conjunction with the NFL—say “other surprise acts” will definitely appear with Shakira and J Lo.

While there’s no deal in place yet, TMZ reports that everyone involved is aware of the momentum—public and corporate—to make room for Pitbull.

Twitter reactions to the question range from, “Pitbull, Yo!” to “Beyoncé” and even Camila Cabello.

One Twitter user wrote: “Shakira is already bringing out JLo as a guest so that’s enough” another even speculated: “Beyoncé!” —do they want the stage to explode from all that star power? Tweeters also threw out Camila Cabello’s name a couple of times, as well as Gloria Estefan’s yet again.

It’s looking pretty likely the guest will be Pitbull.

Both singers have recorded duets with him, he’s from Miami, and he puts on a good show.

By now, the singers have laid out the songs they’ll be performing and the electrifying performances they have in store for the millions who’ll be watching. The fact that they have 30 minutes, tops, to do it all is even more bonkers.

The Best And Worst National Anthem Performances Of All Time

Belting out any song in your best voice can be tough stuffings. But when it comes to performing the “Star-Spangled Banner” only singers in a completely different league of their own can actually do the national anthem justice. The songs poetic lyrics are notoriously difficult because of its wide range. So of course, naturally, in the decades of performances in which “Star-Spangled Banner” has been song at sporting events and the like, there have been some mishaps.

This year, both Shakira and J.Lo are set to perform at the Super Bowl’s halftime show while Demi Lovato will make a career come back by singing the national anthem for millions of viewers. Here’s a look at all of the times singers have rocked and flubbed the national anthem.

That time the Dixie Chicks did a beautiful country rendition of the song.

Fans of the Dixie Chicks fell further in love with the country music stars when they stuck to the original lyrics and sentiment of the song when they performed at Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003.

When Whitney Houston gave a GOAT performance back in the 90s.

The queen of pop reigned supreme back in the 90s and thanks to her outstanding vocal range she had the full anthem in the bag. During the 1991 Super Bowl XXV,  Houston sang and hit each and every note. Not only that, she recorded the song and released it as a single and when 9/11 happened she re-released the single and gave all of her earnings to charity.

In 1983, when Marvin Gaye gave the national anthem a whirl and blew our minds.

Twenty years ago, the beloved “Aint No Mountain High Enough” singer took the anthem to the next level. The singer’s  1983 NBA All-Star performance had a traditional MoTown feel and to this day is celebrated. In fact, his rendition was used in a 2008 Nike commercial featuring the 2008 U.S. Olympic basketball team.

When Chloe and Halle gave the classic ballad a twist of their own.

Back in 2017, the sister duo stole breaths at the NFL Draft Kick Off when the two sang “America the Beautiful”.  Beyonce did us a solid by discovering them.

That time Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem in a fire pantsuit.

Lady Gaga rocked Stadiums at the 2016 Super Bowl. During her performance, the Lady of ladies hit all of her notes and reinvigorated both sides of the crowd.

That time Fergie went for an eye-popping performance.

Beloved singer Fergie did a rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner’ in 2018 that was one for the books. The strange performance went haywire when the singer attempted to go for a sultry version of the national anthem that just… did not slay. During her perfroamce, camera panned to find audience members stifling giggles and soon enough an internet meme was born. Poor Fergie.

When Roseanne Barr gave us a peek into just how problematic she was.

Back in 1990, Barr made an appearance at a Padres game and sang the national anthem. (Still no word on who booked her for this.) Barr’s cringeworthy performance, which was off-key and oddly high pitched, was made worse when fans realized she was attempting to make the patriotic song into a joke. The racist comedian dared to even spit on the pitcher’s mound as she was leaving the field. Yikes.

When Christina Aguilera forgot the lyrics.

In 2011, Aguilera came out to sing the lyrics to our countries beloved anthem and pretty much bombed. The famous singer had been celebrated for nailing the song hundreds of times. Even when she was kid. Video of the singer proves that she started out of the gate spectacularly but ultimately, things took a turn for the worse when she skipped over lyrics and even began the song again. According to an interview with Aguilera on Elleh, the singer let her get the mood get to her so bad that she forgot most of the lyrics and tried to improve.
