Gina Rodriguez has been cast as the most mysterious woman in the world. According to Tracking Board and Slate, the Puerto Rican actress originally from Chicago, IL, will lend her voice to a new Netflix animated show. Voicing the title character of an animated show is super cool, although I’d be excited to see real-life Gina Rodriguez in the classic red raincoat and signature hat.

The new Netflix show will be animated, which is a shame as Rodriguez’s color is clearly red.
Rodriguez would be perfect for a live-action series as she is definitely in shape to play a butt-kicking Carmen Sandiego super-spy.
Even when training in Muy Thai, she’s rocking that red.
For those who don’t remember, Carmen Sandiego was essentially James Bond in a dress.
This would be a really great way to get out of a first date. She probably inspired the helicopter get away scene in “Louie.”
Carmen Sandiego was the embodiment of cool to kids everywhere who watched.
It was great for kids to see a woman performing high tech espionage while outsmarting everyone. I, personally, assumed she was Latina – with a name like Carmen Sandiego, what else could she be?
I wonder if there will be a love interest, because there really is no one better than Waldo.

And you absolutely have to cast Gael García Bernal for the role of Waldo.
We’re so excited to see how this show turns out for Gina!
