Fans Are Shook Over This Graphic Leaked ‘El Secreto De Selena’ Trailer

A leaked trailer for “El Secreto De Selena” is making some Selena fans upset.

Telemundo sparked a backlash among some Selena fans when it first announced its TV adaptation of the controversial María Celeste Arrarás book “El Secreto De Selena.” Some fans called for Telemundo to cancel the show, which was part of its 2017/2018 lineup. Others were hoping that Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla, would step in and block the show from being produced, like he did with the TV series based on Chris Perez’s book.

Now, a leaked trailer of the “El Secreto de Selena” is upsetting some fans due to its graphic depiction of Selena’s murder. The trailer begins with an audible gun shot and transitions to “security footage” of a bloody Selena exiting her motel room after being wounded. Moments later, we see Selena running from the motel room, trailing blood, until she collapses in the motel lobby. Throughout the trailer, we also see Maria Celeste (played by Mexican actress Marlene Favela), and Yolanda Saldivar, the woman convicted of killing Selena.

Fans are having very strong reactions to the graphic depiction in the trailer.

They even recreated the scene from the movie “Selena” (left) where she drops her ring, but the Telemundo version (right) features lots of blood.

Some people are even having some physical reactions.

“The trailer for ‘El Secreto de Selena’ will make you sick. There you go,” @xBrutalRomance tweeted.

It is so bloody that some people are saying it doesn’t really look like a drama.

Oof.

There are calls from fans to show some respect.

And some of those same people are arguing that the show and book are based on the words of her murderer, Yolanda Saldivar.

So, we ask you…

Funko Pop dolls are a major part of American pop culture. We all have friends, family members, and coworkers who are avid Funko Pop collectors. Every major celebrity and character has been made into a Funko Pop doll and finally, at very long last, Selena is joining the lineup.

There is allegedly a Selena Funko Pop doll coming next year and fans are here 👏🏼 for 👏🏼 it. 👏🏼

A list of all the Funko Pop dolls coming in 2021 has been released and it seems like Selena fans will finally be in the lineup. The Queen of Tejano music, who still rocks our playlists, will soon be available for you to buy and have sitting on your desk with all of your other Funko Pop friends.

Some people have already created what they think will be the Funko Pop Selena doll based on the description.

It is kind of amazing how we never, ever get tired of seeing Selena in that glittered purple jumpsuit. Her AstroDome concert will forever be one of the most iconic outfits ever worn by anyone ever. That is just a fact. We all recognize that specific purple jumpsuit as one of Selena’s most important looks of her career.

Fans are ready to pony up the cash for these dolls.

Businesses have learned in recent years just how important Selena is to the Latino community. She represents the first time we saw people who looked like us making a big name for themselves. Media had been so white for so long that it was incredible to see Selena taking the stage and breaking into mainstream culture.

The excitement to own the Selena Funko Pop doll is very palpable.

The entire fandom just screamed “Me siento muy…excited!” How is it that one of the most iconic singers of all time hasn’t been made into a Funko Pop doll yet? One question that is likely on everyone’s mind is how closely the Quintanilla family is to the project. We all know that they have to be involved in all things with Selena’s likeness so we all just want to know what’s up.

The 21st century has shaped up to be a major moment for Selena.

Her impact on the Latino community has far exceeded her time alive. She showed us that brown girls can do anything they want to do and that we belong. Selena’s legacy has transcended generations and is being passed on to younger Latinos and Latinas. It is something that we love to see because all of us deserve to know that we can do anything we put our minds to.

On Sunday morning, drivers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana were treated to a sight they definitely don’t see very often: an 11-year-old boy driving a school bus. But it wasn’t just any “ride”; it was an unaccompanied, illegal joy ride.

That’s right, over the weekend, a young Louisiana boy managed to steal a school bus from the local Head Start and take it out for a spin.

He then led police officers on a 45-minute, high-speed chase around Baton Rouge.

A TikTok user named @lainetaylor captured the chase on video. As the school bus zoomed down the street, it appeared that around a dozen cop cars were in hot-pursuit of the rogue boy.

Witness Joy Gradney described her first-hand experience to the local WAFB news station, saying, “As he got closer and closer and closer, I saw it’s a little boy in there and he was laughing. He was like giggling on the way across Florida [Ave] as he goes right past me. I’m like, ‘I can’t believe it’s a little boy!'”

According to authorities, the bus was a “push to start” model, so it was easy for the boy to start the vehicle without any keys. As for how he could reach the pedals, that’s a question we’d like an answer to.

Police also claimed that they little boy was flipping them off and taunting them as he drove the stolen school bus.

The chase eventually ended when the bus crashed into a tree. Thankfully, no one was hurt (although three other cars were apparently hit during the chase). The boy was arrested and put in handcuffs.

Libby Smith, the woman whose tree he crashed into, sounded as shocked as anyone when she found out who the bus’s driver was.

“I’m thinking, ‘What in the world is going on?’ And my first thought is that it was a lot of kids on the bus,” she explained to WAFB. “Thank goodness he was okay he was safe, but it was not your typical Sunday afternoon occurrence for sure!”

According to reports, the police charged the boy with “theft of a vehicle, aggravated flight, damage to property and aggravated assault.” We have a feeling he won’t be stealing any more busses any time soon.
