Fans Are Shook Over This Graphic Leaked ‘El Secreto De Selena’ Trailer
A leaked trailer for “El Secreto De Selena” is making some Selena fans upset.
Telemundo sparked a backlash among some Selena fans when it first announced its TV adaptation of the controversial María Celeste Arrarás book “El Secreto De Selena.” Some fans called for Telemundo to cancel the show, which was part of its 2017/2018 lineup. Others were hoping that Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla, would step in and block the show from being produced, like he did with the TV series based on Chris Perez’s book.
Now, a leaked trailer of the “El Secreto de Selena” is upsetting some fans due to its graphic depiction of Selena’s murder. The trailer begins with an audible gun shot and transitions to “security footage” of a bloody Selena exiting her motel room after being wounded. Moments later, we see Selena running from the motel room, trailing blood, until she collapses in the motel lobby. Throughout the trailer, we also see Maria Celeste (played by Mexican actress Marlene Favela), and Yolanda Saldivar, the woman convicted of killing Selena.
Fans are having very strong reactions to the graphic depiction in the trailer.Everything Selena / Facebook
They even recreated the scene from the movie “Selena” (left) where she drops her ring, but the Telemundo version (right) features lots of blood.
