‘Wild Thoughts’ Is The Sultry Caribbean Music Video You’ve Been Dreaming About

This gorgeous music video for “Wild Thoughts,” from DJ Khaled’s forthcoming album “Grateful,” was shot in Belize with Rihanna and a supporting role from R&B singer Bryston Tiller. The trio cruises the streets of Belize in the most Caribbean of outfits: Rihanna sports several NSFW off-the-shoulder numbers resembling that old-timey Caribbean look, while DJ Khaled wore floral print and does a discombobulated salsa. The song itself features a sample from Carlos Santana’s 1999 number one hit “Maria Maria.” The whole video blends perfectly, culminating in the trio on a rooftop as fireworks go off.

His rhythm is a little bit off, but he’s got the right spirit and outfit, so you can’t hate on the dude, not even a little bit.

This Twitter user peeped the game too.

“@Djkhaled is the only person who can have terrible dance moves and get away with it” said @_justin14.

After Belize nicknamed an island after DJ Khaled, you know he had to go and shoot there.

The Belize Tourism Board nicknamed an island “Major Caye” back in March of 2016 after DJ Khaled, so it only seemed right for him to go there and catch a vibe with this video.

Rihanna really went for that Caribbean look.

With her off-the-shoulder top, floral head wrap and enormous door knocker earrings, she fits right in with the Belize locals. Not that it’s hard for the Rihanna — she is from Barbados after all — but she pulls it off so well.

Get ready to hear a lot more of the song.

People are already hailing it as the song of the summer, so listen sparingly, because it’s a banger that you don’t want to get played out. The original “Maria Maria” made it to the #1 spot on Billboard and stayed there for 10 weeks.

Let’s see if DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Tiller can top that.

Rihanna Revealed A Childhood Experience That She Says Connects Her To Mexican Migrants In The U.S.

Rihanna has never been afraid to speak her mind. She’s a woman who speaks up for issues she cares about and people listen to her. That’s why so many love her – present company included.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer, how has been kind of off the musical radar as of late, spoke out in a new interview with British Vogue and she had a few things to say about her upcoming music, where she’s been living, and her relationship with migrant communities.

Rihanna continues to use her platform and reach of over 200 million followers across social media to bring awareness to social issues that are important to her.

In an interview with Vogue, the creator of “Fenty Beauty” explained feeling empathy with Mexicans and Latinos who are discriminated against in the United States, since she says that she knows how it feels to be on the end of discriminatory policies.

“The Guyanese are like the Mexicans of Barbados,” she said. “So I identify—and that’s why I really relate and empathize with Mexican people or Latino people, who are discriminated against in America. I know what it feels like to have the immigration come into your home in the middle of the night and drag people out.”

Similarly, she recalled the times in which she suffered and the difficulties her and mother experienced when they emigrated from Barbados.

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in St. Michael, Barbados to a Guyanese mother and Barbadian father.

In the Vogue interview, she added: “Let’s say I know what that fight is like. I have witnessed it, I have been there. I think I was eight years old when I had to live that in the middle of the night. So I know how daunting it is for a child, and if my father had been dragged out of my house, I can guarantee you that my life would have been a disaster.”

In that same Vogue interview, Rihanna confessed to something that few people outsider her inner circle even knew.

She explained that in recent years she has become a bit of a nomad, having a house in London, Paris, Barbados and Mexico, where she feels more relaxed.

“I just love Mexico. I really need to do my DNA test,” she jokingly told Afua Hirsch of Vogue. Perhaps she was an agave plant, in a past life, she pondered.

Rihanna has been vocal about immigrant rights in the past and takes great pride in her origins.

The Grammy Award winning singer and entrepreneur has very publicly thrown shade at President Trump over his cruel immigration policies.

Rihanna, who’s been appointed as the ambassador of her native country Barbados, is no stranger to political matters. She sent a cease-and-desist letter to President Donald Trump in early November after he played her music at one of his rallies. She also rejected the opportunity to perform during the Super Bowl LIII in February 2019 out of protest for Colin Kaepernick.

Plus, in an interview with The Cut last year about the word ‘immigrant’, she said: “For me, it’s a prideful word. To know that you can come from humble beginnings and just take over whatever you want to, dominate at whatever you put your mind to. The world becomes your oyster, and there’s no limit. Wherever I go, except for Barbados, I’m an immigrant. I think people forget that a lot of times.”

Rihanna is entering 2020 makeup-free. The Fenty Beauty founder, posted her “first selfie of the year” on Monday night on Instagram, showing off her fresh face and new cornrow braids. Some speculated that the barefaced look is a sign that Rihanna might be entering the skincare game; and there might be some truth behind the rumor.

Rihanna’s fans are hungry for a new album. But instead of new music, the star blessed social media with a different kind of teaser today

Or at least that’s what fans think about her latest post. The Fenty Beauty founder took to Instagram earlier today to post a makeup-free selfie with what appears to be a blemish on her chin. “First selfie of the year doe. #2020,” she wrote. A casual Instagram is always a mysterious move her most passionate fans live to analyze. Does Rihanna’s choice of a casual hoodie mean she’s currently and cozily curating the next Fenty collection drop? Does the subtle sliver of metallic gloss lining her lips foreshadow a new psychedelic Fenty Beauty lip liner?

Fans began speculating on Twitter

Users began theorizing that RiRi’s choice to showcase herself sans makeup—and even proudly promoting an imperfect blemish, meant that she’s teasing trial products for a Fenty-branded skin line. This is Rihanna, people, the hustle never stops.

In typical Rihanna form, when one commenter pointed out the pimple on her cheek, the star replied: “Let her have her shine, PLEASE.”

Some speculated that the barefaced look is a sign that Rihanna might be entering the skincare game.

Some followers were more fascinated with her complexion and began to theorize that a Fenty Beauty skin-care line could soon be on the horizon.

“Rihanna’s putting this pic with a pimple and some months later she will release Fenty Skin and prove how it cleared this pimple. A smart businesswoman, I stan,” one user wrote.

And the rumors might not be as farfetched as you think…

Rihanna wanted us to glow so she gave us Fenty Beauty. She wanted us to look our best while sleeping or lounging around, so she gave us Savage X. Now, Rihanna is making sure we’re all taking care of bodies and skin underneath it all with a “Fenty Skin” line.

Riri trademarked ‘Fenty Skin’ last year.

According to a trademark application submitted to the US Patent and Trademark Office’s on March 29, 2019, Rihanna registered “Fenty Skin,” which will cover “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care, and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume, and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools, and applicators.

The new launch could be top of mind for Rihanna; the United States Patent and Trademark Office sent her a notice to re-up the application on December 3.

Who wouldn’t love a Fenty Skin moisturizer to use before applying the Pro Filt’r Foundation and concealer? Page Six reported that the Fenty Skin trademark application has already been approved and will be sent to an attorney for further review, which can take up to three months to complete. But trust, Rihanna has a very patient fanbase.

Rumors about Rihanna’s skincare line surfaced as early as 2017.

A few years back, a fan found a trademark registration for a brand named “House of Fenty.” According to that application, House of Fenty would produce “cosmetics, non medicated skincare preparations, namely creams, lotions, gels, toners, and cleansers.”

We’re still waiting for that album though…

Still, rabid fans seemed more concerned about the album the singer previously confirmed for 2019. One person even lamented, “The fact that the pimple heard the album and we didn’t.”

So, Rihanna’s answer to the post, is confirmation that she knows that popping pimples (though hard to avoid) is a no-no. It’s also a reminder that zits happen to just about everyone. As for a line of Fenty Beauty skin care? Only time will tell.
