Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ Just Made Music History Made Only By The Likes Of Barbra Streisand And Christina Aguilera

Updated August 17, 2020.

Cardi B’ and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” video has shot to No. 1. on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. The song is Cardi B’s fourth to top the list and the second for Megan.

The big news marks another historic moment in a year loaded with powerful women-led collaborations.

According to Billboard, “Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion combine for the ninth Hot 100 No. 1 credited to two or more women (and no other billed acts), and the fourth this year. Prior to 2020, five such songs had led over 40-plus years.” In 2020 four women-led collaborations have reached the number 1 spot. This past year, the women collabs to reach the top of the chart have also included “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, (June 6, 2020), “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion feat. Beyoncé (May 30, 2020), and “Say So” by Doja Cat feat. Nicki Minaj (May 16, 2020).

The last female collabs to hit the top no.1 were 2014’s “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX, Rihanna and Britney Spears’ 2011 hit “S&M”
“Lady Marmalade” by Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya & P!nk, in 2001,
“The Boy Is Mine” by Brandy & Monica in 1998 and “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)” by Barbra Streisand & Donna Summer in 1979.

Clearly, female collaboration are thriving in quarantine.

Cardi B and Megan’s big moment in musical history will give you all of the thirst vibes you need.

They did that. The music video is everything we didn’t know we needed to make quarantine better. The rappers gave a very exciting performance as they delivered a music video we will not soon forget to the first song Cardi B has released in nine months. They even had some notable cameos like Normani Kordei and Rosalia. But fans want to know why Kylie Jenner had to be involved.

After all, Kylie Jenner’s cameo is just walking through a hallway.

The cameo is a very random placement but might just be the best way to grab some attention. Normani Kordei, Rosalia, Rubi Rose, Sukihana, and Mulatto also appeared in the video and were given far smaller parts. People are just really confused.

Though, on Twitter user pointed out that Jenner is doing exactly what you’d expect. People always give her attention when she shows up somewhere and that attention will help the video. Cardi B isn’t one to overlook things so she likely knew you’d be upset and have to figure out why Jenner was added to the project.

Earlier this month, the rappers confirmed that they were dropping a new collaboration that we didn’t see coming and fans were quick to go crazy.

“WAP” is the first lead track from Cardi since she dropped “Press” in 2019.

Earlier this year in March, Megan dropped her album “Suga.”

“WAP” drops this Friday and by the looks of the song’s cover art, it’s gonna be quite the hit. Or at least be very taste? Megan and Cardi can be seen posing for the cover art wearing matching “WAP” gold hoops and with their hair woven in together into one bun. To top it off, their tongues are sticking out like they’re ready to rock.

The latest pairing is a follow up to Megan’s recent power couple collab for “Savage” with Beyoncé. It also her newest song since her recent recovery from a gunshot wound.

The new song is proof that Megan, who revealed that she was shot in both of her feet, can stand on her own no matter what.

Speaking about the shooting, which happened on July 12, Megan said “I see… a lot of people that have been very supportive and sending prayers, and I just really appreciate that” she said during the live stream. “I saw the hotties doing a lot of things, like writing letters on Tumblr and DMing me all the time, and I just want to say thank y’all so much, because y’all have really been the ones helping me get through this.”

“I was shot in both of my feet,” she explained. “I had to get surgery to get the bullets taken out. And it was super scary… Thank God that the bullets didn’t touch bones; they didn’t break tendons. I know my momma or my daddy, my granny, had to be looking out for me with that one because where the bullets hit at it missed everything.”

Of course, Cardi B and Megan fans were quick to flip.

Literally we’re all pumped.

Girl groups are uniting.

And we’re all ready for it to reach #1.

And we all have questions about what WAP is supposed to mean?

It’s all a mystery but we’re here for the guesses.

“WAP” drops this week on August 7, this Friday.

Cardi B And Sister Sued Over Video Claiming To Show ‘Racist MAGA Supporters’

Cardi B and her sister are being sued for defamation of character after a viral video taken by Hennessy Carolina Almánzar. The video shows two men, one wearing a MAGA hat, and one woman telling Hennessy to move her car, which is parked on the beach.

Earlier this month, Cardi B shared a video taken by her sister showing a confrontation over where a car was parked.

Cardi B, who is notorious for having widely broadcast Twitter feuds with people, posted the video in response to a tweet from Candace Owens. Owens is a controversial conservative figure whose brand is all about shock and awe. Owens famously said she thinks it would be okay if “Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well.”

Immediately, there was skepticism about the incident since the video starts during the confrontation.

Responding to nay-sayers, Cardi B shared a video of her sisters voice messages sent to her IG DMs. Hennessy claims in the messages that the white men were the aggressors against her and her girlfriend while they were on the beach.

The videos did not convince some people that her sister wasn’t in the wrong.

Cardi B’s tweet is filled with responses questioning the video and denying its authenticity. The argument immediately turned political because of the mention of Trump and Trump supporters. The conversation on Twitter is divided among people who believe Cardi B and her sister and those who don’t.

Now, Cardi B and Hennessy are being sued by the beachgoers in the video.

“These peaceful Suffolk County residents were quietly enjoying a Sunday at the Smith Point beach with their families, when rap celebrity Hennessy Carolina suddenly approached them, raging, spitting, insulting, assaulting, defaming and threatening them, all the while videotaping them because one of them wore a MAGA hat,” beachgoers’ Miller Place attorney John Ray said, according to ABC7NYC.

The lawsuit claims defamation of character because of the language used in the video against them.

According to Billboard, plaintiffs Peter Caliendo, Pauline Caliendo, and Manuel Alarcon claim that they had approached Hennessy and her girlfriend, Michelle Diaz, blocked them in with how she parked her car. The lawsuit states that the men asked for Diaz to move her car and that’s when Hennessy started to record the video and hurl names and insults at them.

This story is developing and mitú will be updating as the story unfolds.

Cardi B Just Created An Instagram Account For Kulture And It’s The Cutest Thing Ever

There’s a new influencer in town and her name is Kulture Kiari.

On Saturday, Cardi B posted a photo of 2-year-old Kulture to her Instagram page, writing: “Follow @KultureKiari new IG…So much cool cute baby stuff coming up.”

The Instagram page Cardi was linking to was a brand new page dedicated to the chart-topping rapper’s daughter, Kulture.

So far, the page has only thirteen photos posted, but has already racked up over 700,000 followers–and counting.

A few of the pictures show Kulture in peak-cute form, wearing an adorable plaid skirt and pink cardigan. She also has a big white bow fixed on top of her head.

The rest of the photos range from Kulture swimming in a pool to experimenting with Snapchat filters. All of the pictures have captions written in first-person, like “I look like mommy here” and “My mom was annoying me but it’s ok cause I look cute.”

The Instagram account even has some #TBT photos of when culture was a baby–one notably cute one where she’s trying mashed potatoes for the first time.

Naturally, Cardi’s fans are eating up all the extra Kulture content, writing comments like “Kulture is looking all cute” and “She is so freaking beautiful”.

Commenters couldn’t help but exclaim over Kulture’s fashionable outfits, accessories and hairstyles.

In the past, Cardi has defended her decision to dress Kulture in expensive designer clothing, saying that her child is in the public eye and deserves to be dressed as well as she is.

“If I’m fly and Daddy’s fly, then so is the kid. If I’m wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid’s having the same, you know what I’m saying,” she said on Instagram. “Because if I was looking like a bad b**ch, expensive b**ch and I have my kid looking like a bum bum, then y’all would be talking s**t.”

Kulture’s new Instagram page comes just days after Cardi B filed for divorce from husband of three years, Offset.

While she has largely stayed mum on the topic, she recently broke her silence via Instagram, explaining the reason behind the divorce. Cardi said she was simply “tired of the arguments” and that her and Offset “grew apart”. She also added that she “hasn’t shed one tear” over the dissolution of her marriage.

Interestingly enough, Offset has previously been candid about his desire for Kulture to stay out of the public eye and lead a relatively normal life. “I want my kids to be kids. I don’t like them having Instagram, I don’t want to move to LA, so there won’t be cameras in their face,” he told The Breakfast Club in 2019. “I keep my kids in public school, I don’t want my kid to be spoiled.”

Cardi, it looks like, has other plans.
