All Six Members Of RBD Got Together For A Group Photo, And Fans Think They’re Teasing A Reunion Tour—Here’s Why It Might Be True

RBD members reunited and posted a picture of it on New Year’s Eve. Fans were left wondering whether the reunion meant that we might be getting another album? Perhaps a tour? Or maybe we’ll get a Rebelde remake this year? Here’s why we think the former band members might be hinting at an upcoming project together.

Every Latinx kid’s favorite band of the early 00s might be getting back together.

If you grew up Latinx in the early 2000s, you were probably obsessed with Rebelde at one point or another —like the rest of us. Fans hadn’t seen all members together since 2008, when Anahi, Alfonso “Poncho” Herrera, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann and Christian Chavez were on their farewell tour.

12 years later, the band got together again to tease their fans.

Dulce Maria was the first to upload the reunion photo with her old bandmates. “Que el 2020 esté lleno de sorpresas que alegren su ❤️!  Feliz año!!!,” “May 2020 be full of surprises that cheer your heart,” she wrote on Twitter.

The picture shows Dulce in a group hug with her 5 former band members.

It is not yet clear why the former RBD members were together, whether it was just a regular chat, maybe their working on an upcoming documentary, or a reunion and world tour. What’s true is that seeing the six of them in the same room, sparked the public’s anxiety. And they have thoughts.

2020 is BLESSED

Needless to say that the reunion photo sent fans into overdrive, with them expressing their excitement all over twitter and the comment section of the Instagram photos posted by band members themselves.

A lot of fans are getting their hopes up already

It is important to remember that many of the members often said that this meeting would not happen due to political differences and past discussions. The artists themselves talked about some dark times they went through during the period of time when RBD was at it’s most popular. Others remember the time with affection and say they would come back, if this happened by mutual agreement —and fans don’t even know what to expect anymore.

Seeing all the members together after more than 10 years has sent twitter into a frenzy.

This user is ready to spend her life savings to sing ‘Solo quedate en silencio’ at the top of her lungs one more time.

Eff #WorldWarIII give us an RBD reunion tour!

This fan is not bothered about the rising tension between the US and Iran as long as RBD gets back together

The reunion actually took place before Christmas

Para siempre. ❤️

A post shared by Anahi (@anahi) on

That RBD reunion actually took place around Dec. 23 when Anahi and her bandmates uploaded a similar photo featuring the band in a group hug that didn’t show their faces. “Para siempre,” she captioned it.

Interestingly enough, all band members uploaded the same group hug on December 23.

Poncho posted the photo and dismissed all reunion rumors, saying that the 6 were only getting together as friends, with no “pesos signs,” “no interests,” “just friends getting together”: “11 años después… Citando a Mai Este es el verdadero reencuentro, no el que evidentemente se esperaría anunciar, no es el de los números, ni es un negocio de otros , ni tiene signos de pesos , el reencuentro de los seis.’ Reencuentro de amig@s, mas no de intereses.”

Christian and Christopher also posted the same photo just before Christmas

“6 souls that will never be apart!! 11 years later, the love is still intact, this is the real reunion. December 2008-December 2019” was his caption.

To add even more layers to the mystery, they all posted another group photo on the same date again.

Cuando una no es ninguna… ¡Feliz 2020!

A post shared by Alfonso Herrera (@ponchohd) on

All 6 RBD members posted a group photo again on the same day —December 31. “Cuando una no es ninguna,” said Poncho. The bandmates previously regrouped in a photo in 2015 sans Herrera. With all of them present this time around, and with all of them timing the publication of their images on the same dates, we can’t help but suspect that this was more than just a friendly get together.

Here’s to hoping we get an RBD reunion in 2020 —or at least a fun documentary. All of us rebeldes are dying to sing the nostalgic tunes of our adolescence, as was proven when #RBDForever became a trending topic on Twitter after the photo’s release.

After months of delays and waiting, Disney has announced that Mulan fans will no longer have to wait for a major theatrical release to see the live-action version of the animated classic. On Tuesday the Walt Disney Company revealed that the film will no longer seek a major theatrical release and that the blockbuster’s debut will take place on the subscription streaming service, Disney+.

To see the movie, customers will need to pay an additional $29.99 on top of the cost of the monthly subscription for Disney+

“In order to meet the needs of consumers during this unpredictable period, we thought it was important to find alternative ways to bring this exceptional family-friendly film to them in a timely manner,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek explained in a statement according to Variety. “We see this as an opportunity to bring this incredible film to a broad audience currently unable to go to movie theaters.”

The company has said that it plans to release Mulan in theaters in areas where Disney+ is not available to audiences.

According to Variety, “The decision to put Mulan on premium video-on-demand further emphasizes the studio’s increased reliance on Disney Plus at a time when most of their business — from theme parks and cruises to movie theaters and retail stores — have been crippled by the pandemic. Research, Chapek says, suggests that bringing a high-profile release like Mulan to homes “will act as a fairly large stimulus to sign up for Disney Plus.”

Mulan had been originally scheduled for a theatrical debut on March 27 and was meant to be Disney’s biggest theatrical release for the year.

Disney shelled out a $200 million budget and in early March the studio set up a lavish red carpet premiere at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Days later, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Disney to postpone the movie’s release. The movie’s debut was then pushed back several times before Disney announced last week that they would indefinitely remove it from the release calendar. Fortunately, they’ve changed their mind and Mulan will debut on the streamer’s new platform on September 4, 2020.

Disney’s latest version of Mulan stars actress Yifei Liu as the titular character based on the legend of a female Chinese warrior who disguises herself and takes her father’s place as a soldier.

Kevin Hart Backs Ellen DeGeneres Despite The Fact That Fans Canceled His Opinion A Long Time Ago

In 2019, comedian and actor Kevin Hart received a torrential downpour of heat from fans after a series of homophobic tweets and jokes he’d made in the past had been recovered and publicized. As a result, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ousted him from his position as host of the Oscars that year and fans demanded that he issue a mea culpa. After a day, Hart tweeted an apology to the LGBTQ community but later announced that he was reconsidering stepping down as host after comedian Ellen DeGeneres expressed support for Hart to do so. At the time, DeGeneres defended Hart and called the Academy to rally for Hart to be able to host again.

Around that time, DeGeneres also hosted Hart on her show and urged him to ignore the backlash he’d received. At the time, DeGeneres dismissed his critics as “haters.”

Now it seems that Hart feels that it’s his turn to defend DeGeneres.

In the wake of allegations and criticism about the show’s toxic workplace culture as well as DeGeneres’s role in facilitating it, Hart took to Instagram on Tuesday to say that he will love the comedian “for life.”

“It’s crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly,” the actor wrote in a post featuring the two stars smiling together on her show. “I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f—— planet. She has treated my family and team with love and respect from day 1.”

“The internet has become a crazy world of negativity… we are falling in love with people’s downfall. It’s honestly sad..” Hart continued. “When did we get here? I stand by the ones I know and that I love. Looking forward to future where we are back to loving one another… this hate s*** has to stop. Hopefully, it goes out of style soon…”

Hart finished his post writing that he does not mean “to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences.”

Hart continued writing that the point of his message is “simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen.”

Last week, DeGeneres addressed allegations about her show and apologized. “My name is on the show and everything we do and I take responsibility for that,” she explained. “Alongside Warner Bros, we immediately began an internal investigation and we are taking steps, together, to correct the issues. As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”
