Latinos For Trump Posted A Collage Of Flag For Hispanic Heritage Month And Got Some Wrong

Latinos for Trump has long been a confusing organization in the Latino community. President Donald Trump has built his administration and brand to be squarely against people of color. Now, the Latinos for Trump group caused a stir when they posted a collage of flags that are not quite right.

Latinos for Trump really thought they had something when they posted their Hispanic Heritage Month collage.

The first, and most obvious mistake, is that the Mexican flag is backwards. The flag is supposed to be green, white, and red in that order. As we can all see, the collage has a Mexican flag that is red, white, and green. The eagle is even facing the wrong way so someone literally flipped the flag the wrong way.

Of course, some people tried to make sense of the bizarre Mexican flag snafu.

Last year, the Trump administration announced that it was cutting aid to three countries in Central America. The countries were El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. Fox & Friends picked up the story but told their audience that Trump was cutting aid to “3 Mexican countries.” Perhaps this Twitter user is right and the Latinos for Trump are trying to suggest the existence of other Mexicos.

Someone else pointed out the issues with the Guatemalan flag in the top right corner.

People are very defensive about their cultural heritage and national origin. Messing up someone’s flag is a very serious issue for people. Just ask a Cuban or Puerto Rican about people confusing their flags. It is never a good thing.

Some people fixed the image for them so the organization can see what it should have looked like.

Good, clean lines with all of the flags facing the right way. The creator even changed the message in the middle for the Latino community. It is clear that social media is still willing to show up and teach a couple of lessons here and there.

Others had a more direct message for Latinos for Trump.

We all know that social media is where things go to be manipulated and made fun of. It is very important that if you make something for social media that you take good care to make sure that you check all of the right boxes and execute your work right the first time.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ted Cruz are at it again on Twitter. This time it’s about immigration policy. After recently traveling to the US-Mexican border to underline the recent rise in immigration, Cruz accused AOC of pushing for a “full open borders” policy.

And of course, AOC got him with some solid zingers.

AOC in turn hit back at Cruz for recently fleeing his home state of Texas during its power grid collapse to vacation in Cancún.

In response to Cruz’s attack, AOC suggested Mexico avoid allowing Cruz in the next time he attempts to vacation there. She also called on him to resign from office for his attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

“Ted, this is pretty rich coming from someone who fled their own home (and responsibilities) during an environmental crisis to cross the border and seek refuge in Mexico,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Also you funded cages, expanded cages, and yet you’re complaining about cages. You have no policy, just puff.”

Ocasio-Cortez accused Republicans of hypocritically attacking the current administration’s detention of migrant children at the border after they supported President Donald Trump’s policy of separating migrant parents from their children.

Currently, Democrats like AOC are calling on Biden to impliment more liberal immigration policies.

Republicans have strongly expressed their dislike for the recent rise in migrants which has come as a result of Biden’s reversal of Trump’s most rigid border policies.

AOC is currently a co-sponsor of the Roadmap to Freedom resolution. The resolution calls on the Federal Government to develop and implement a Roadmap to Freedom “in order to overhaul the outdated immigration system in the United States that has gone without significant reform for decades, and to relieve the great human impact an unjust system bears on communities around the country.”

California Brothers Kevin and Sean Carlo Cordon Were Just Arrested For Their Involvement in the Capitol Insurrection

California Brothers Kevin and Sean Carlo Cordon Were Just Arrested For Their Involvement in the Capitol Insurrection

The FBI continues its work arresting folks who were involved in the January 6th Capitol insurrection. On Tuesday, the FBI arrested a pair of Latino brothers from Los Angeles–Kevin Cordon and Sean Carlo Cordon–for being involved in the violent capitol riot.

According to an FBI spokesperson, the FBI raided the homes of both Kevin Cordon and Sean Carlo Cordon and arrested them both on Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Cordon brothers were charged with “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and other crimes stemming from the assault on the Capitol”.

The FBI first became alerted to the California brothers’ possible involvement in the insurrection through a video posted on a Finnish website. According to the FBI, they were tipped off to the brothers’ involvement in the insurrection by an anonymous tip from Finland. The FBI then used the Cordons’ flight and cell phone records to pinpoint the brothers’ locations before and after January 16th.

In the video, both brothers are being interviewed by a Finnish reporter on the day of the insurrection.

Kevin Cordon was wrapped in an American flag, his forehead bandaged and bloodied. Sean was in the background of the frame wearing a gas mask. The Cordon brothers make no secret of the fact that they were involved in illegal activity.

“There were people scuffling with the cops, and that’s when I got hit with a projectile — not sure what it was,” said Kevin Cordon. “And then from there, we proceeded into the broken windows and into the Capitol building.”

The Cordon brothers also made it clear where their political allegiances lie. “It’s clear that this election is stolen,” said Kevin to the Finnish publication.

“There’s just so much overwhelming evidence, and the establishment, the media, big tech are just completely ignoring all of it — and we’re here to show them we’re not having it,” he said. “We’re not just going to take this laying down.”

Kevin also added: “We’re standing up and we’re taking our country back. This is just the beginning.”

In the FBI’s sworn affidavit, the agency alleged that they have security footage of the Cordon brothers climbing through broken windows in the Capitol.

The arrest of the Cordon brothers is just another reminder that many Latinos supported the Trump administration as well. While some people on Twitter expressed surprise that the Cordon brothers were Trump supporters, it’s worth reminding everyone that 32% of Latinos voted for Trump.

Despite the common misconception out there that only “white people” supported Trump, the reality is, Trump’s base was made up of many ethnicities–including Latinos. Despite his largely anti-Latino rhetoric, Trump struck a chord with many different types of people.
