Seven Year Old Dies Attempting To Recreate Bad Bunny Music Video
Seven-year-old Franklyn Mieses of the Dominican Republic was pronounced dead on Tuesday after sustaining severe burns in a fire accident earlier this week.
According to the Dominican newspaper Listin Diario, the seven-year-old was attempting to re-enact a scene from a Bad Bunny music video.
Mieses and his cousins were brought to the Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital in Santo Domingo after attempting to recreate a fire scene on the street.
According to Listin Diario’s report, Mieses and his cousins, Angeli Mora and Perla Masiel Mora, 14 and 11 years-old respectfully, retrieved flammable liquids from their parents’ homes and created a circle on the street before setting them on fire. When the liquid ignited they engulfed the kids and trapped Mieses inside.
The seven-year-old suffered second and third degree burns over 60 percent of his body.
According to Andres Nieves, the director of the hospital’s Burn Unit Mieses sustained burns to over 60 percent of his body. In a statement to the press he said “This type of injuries tend to be very delicate for healing, due to the extent and depth of the burns, the destruction of tissues is greater, is very unfortunate.”
The three children attempted to recreate a scene from the Bad Bunny music video La Romana.
The music video debuted earlier last month on April 6 and currently as over 39 million views on Youtube and features El Alfa. Neither he nor Bad Bunny have commented on the tragic incident at this time.
