One year ago, Fabiana Perez Broke Her Silence About The Attack She Suffered From Danry Vasquez

Weeks since a video showed baseball player Danry Vasquez physically abuse his then-fiancé Fabiana Pérez, which caused an uproar on social media, she finally shared her side of the story.

Pérez, who says she has not been in contact with Vasquez for more than a year, says people cannot judge her situation until they walk in her shoes.

Univision interviewed Fabiana Pérez talked about her relationship with the former minor league player and said if she had known then what she knows now, she would have broken up with him sooner.

In the interview, Pérez openly discusses why she didn’t press charges after the altercation in 2016. In Spanish, she responded by saying: “It’s true what they say: you need to walk a mile in someone’s shoes to know how you’d feel in their situation. People don’t know the stuff that I lived, people don’t know the fear that I suffered.”

Pérez says the incident captured on video was not this the first and only time Vasquez has physically abused her.

She goes on to say that she never told anyone about the abuse because she was covering up for him.

However, in two separate interviews, Vasquez insinuates that the 2016 incident was the only time he abused Pérez.

Vasquez says that since the release of the video, his family has been harassed and been judged by his actions. He went on to say that his family has always been supportive, remain intact, and that he takes responsibility for his actions that have nothing to do with family.

When discussing the abuse she suffered — as seen in the video — Pérez says she was in shock after the incident and couldn’t remember much until she saw the video.

Pérez says she and Vasquez had met when she was only 14 years old, and he was 17. They were engaged but broke off a year ago.

She said it took her a long time to realize that love is not supposed to look like that, but for a variety of reasons, it was hard for her to break it off.

There’s also a new video of Vasquez proposing to a woman that looks just like Pérez, but she clarifies that is not her.

Perez says she has not spoken to Vasquez in more than a year, but it appears that he is now engaged to a woman that looks just like her.
