Tekashi69 Is Facing At Least 49 Years In Prison For His Crimes But Wants The Judge To Give Him A Second Chance

Big bad gang member and former rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine sent a letter to a judge apologizing for his crimes. He was even begging for a ‘second chance’ as he faces a life sentence behind bars. The letter comes after the rapper turned snitch on his former gang and named names of people involved in the gang, including Cardi B. The internet had a field day when Tekashi 6ix9ine started to throw people under the bus to save his own skin.

The former rapper told Judge Paul Engelmayer that he was ‘becoming more and more overwhelmed’ as the date approaches. Tekashi 6ix9ine’s trial was highly publicized and was all people on social media could talk about for weeks.

The hip hop community shunned the former rapper and has mocked him for snitching on other gang members.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, who was charged along with five other ‘Nine Trey’ gangsters in November 2018, was mocked by the hip-hop community for turning ‘snitch’ and cooperating with prosecutors. He did all of this in a bid to earn himself a lighter sentence. If you didn’t catch the avalanche of memes on the issue, then you, my friend, live under a rock.

Here’s what he wrote to the judge.

In the letter obtained by TMZ, Tekashi writes: “I’m sorry to the victims who were affected by my actions, to my fans who look up to me and were misled, to my family who depends on me and to this courtroom for this mess that I contributed to. I’m truly sorry for the harm that I’ve caused. If given a second chance, I will not let this Court down and I will dedicate a portion of my life to helping others not make the same mistakes that I’ve made.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine was charged with being affiliated with the gang Nine Trey last year.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was charged in an indictment outlining his alleged involvement in drug sales and two shootings in New York City. Facing a lot of charges, including racketeering and firearms offenses, the former rapper immediately switched sides and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in hopes of earning himself a break at his own sentencing.

He pleaded guilty to nine charges including conspiracy, firearms offenses, and drug trafficking.

As part of his deal, he testified against two high-ranking members; Anthony ‘Harv’ Ellison and Aljermiah ‘Nuke’ Mack, who were both subsequently convicted. Over three days on the witness stand, Tekashi 6ix9ine spilled all the tea, with details, about the illegal acts he witnessed during his time with Nine Trey, a violent faction of the infamous Bloods.

The rapper described how he used Nine Trey to increase his street credibility to boost his career. In exchange, Tekashi 6ix9ine was bankrolling the gang’s operations through his music earnings.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was labeled a snitch on social media.

After rattling off the names of other stars he says were involved in the gang, including Cardi B (who denies any association with the gang) and Jim Jones, all hell broke loose on Tekashi 6ix9ine.

Maybe getting out of prison wouldn’t be the best to happen to Tekashi 6ix9ine.

His testimony was so explicit and detailed, it made everyone question how safe he would be on the outside. If the rapper managed to get out, there is a lot of concern over his safety given his willingness to roll over and cooperate with prosecutors and law enforcement.

The sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

As we mentioned earlier, he faces up to 47 years in prison but apparently believes the sentence will be reduced to a matter of months, according to the Daily Mail.

Tekashi 6ix9ine says he won’t accept witness protection and plans to hire personal security.

Whether or not he’ll be able to afford private security around the clock, is a whole different story. The musician’s net worth isn’t known. Some believe he’s worth around $10million, while others put his fortune at around $1million. Whatever the number is, no-doubt his legal bills will take a big chunk out of whatever money he has left.

The prospects of Tekashi 6ix9ine going back into music when (if) he gets out of prison are pretty bleak.

By accusing several fellow rappers of gang involvement during the trial, Tekashi 6ix9ine became somewhat of a pariah in the music industry. A lot of fellow artists described him as a ‘hungry’ internet star who clung to fame without the talent to back it up.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was a social media star before he became a rapper.

He was known for his rainbow-colored hair, quirky style, and tattoos way before anyone could single out a song of his. Tekashi 6ix9ine’s album Day69: Graduation Day was a top-seller in 2018 following its release. The album included a multiplatinum hit “Fefe” featuring Nicki Minaj, and “Stoopid” featuring fellow incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda.
