Twitter And Instagram Users Suspect That There Is A Cardi B And Miley Cyrus Collab In The Stars
One might think that musical artists like Miley Cyrus and Cardi B have little in common that would allow them to make music together. Cyrus has had a few moments in the sun dabbling with hip-hop and has on occasion done a few rap lines but has in recent years been strong associated with country music. Cardi B, on the other hand, has been dubbed the queen of trap and a Latin music artist. And yet, it seems the two songstresses might be setting out to dismantle any assumptions we might have about their musical limits.
In a recent Instagram story, Cyrus might have accidentally revealed that she plans to, or has already, joined forces with Cardi B for an album that will surely defy their respective genres.
In a recent Instagram story, Cyrus may have accidentally revealed that she has plans to collaborate with artists, Cardi B and Shawn Mendes.
Speaking to fans during an Instagram Live on Sunday, Cyrus gave a little insight into her creative process with a tour of her home and a look at her home office. During one turn around the room in which she does most of her work, Cyrus gave a flash of a whiteboard which seemed to display a tracklist and a November 23 release date.
The apparent trackless included a 13-song list for her upcoming follow-up album to Cyrus’s She Is Coming EP
Earlier in May, Cyrus launched a new era of her own music with the first part of her She Is Coming EP. From Cyrus’s sneak peek and the crafty investigation of her Instagram fans, the trackless includes tracks such as “Mother’s Daughter,” “Party Up The Street,” “Cattitude,” “Slide Away,” “Mary Jane” and “Golden G-String.” Fans also deduced that the song “Naked” seemed to feature Cardi B. They also noted that it was possible that Shawn Mendes could make an appearance on “Playing With Fire.”
While fans have made speculations about Cyrus’s release date, nothing has been officially set in stone.
Back in July of this year, Cyrus spoke about her upcoming EP with Elle in an interview. At the time, Cyrus described the album as an album that isn’t limited to one specific genre. Talking about the meaning behind the album’s title, Cyrus said, “My record is called She Is Miley Cyrus. ‘She’ does not represent a gender. She is not just a woman. ‘She’ doesn’t refer to a vagina. She is a force of nature. She is power. She can be anything you want to be, therefore, she is everything. She is the super she. She is the she-ro. She is the She-E-O.”
Recently, Cyrus has come under some fire for a controversial comment she paid to her new boyfriend Cody Simpson.
In a separate Instagram story, the actress did an hour-long Livestream with Simpson and reflected on her decisions in partners and “not allowing anyone in.” Speaking more about her relationship with Simpson, Cyrus commented “There are good men out there guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay, there are good people with (penises) out there, you just got to find them.” In response, Simpson laughed “You don’t have to be gay.” The response to Cyrus’s comments hit back and hard with many calling Cyrus’s comments “homophobic” and harmful. Cyrus took to Twitter after the backlash to comment that she had been misunderstood. “I was talking shit about sucky guys but let me be clear, YOU don’t CHOOSE your sexuality. You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of,” she wrote.
It’s not the first time Cyrus has pushed for Cardi B.
Back in May of this year, the singer performed her song “Cattitude” rapped the line “I love you, Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” The lyric seemed to be a clear reference not only to the recent feuds between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B but also of a past one between Cyrus and Minaj. Most fans will easily remember the unforgettable tiff that took place between Cyrus and Minah during the 2015 MTV VMAs. At the time the “Anaconda” artist took to the stage and called out Cyrus for speaking about her in an interview with The New York Times. At the time, Nicki had said “Back to this bitch who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?” The confrontation made for one of the most uncomfortable moments in VMA history.
No word yet from Cardi B or Shawn Mendes about a potential Miley Cyrus collaboration, but we’re pretty sure that even despite the two artists’s busy schedule a pairing up with either of them would be a quick hit. Cardi B has proven to be major top charter from the onset of her career and a Miley Cyrus collaboration might just prove to be all-out gold.
