Latino Artists Dominated YouTube’s Top 10 Music Videos Of 2017
As a part of its 2017 Rewind, YouTube released its list of the top ten music videos of 2017, and seven out of the ten music videos feature Latino artists. Here’s a rundown of the seven videos that made the list:
The number one music video is “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
With over 4 billion views, the music video for “Despacito” is not only YouTube’s most viewed music video of 2017, it’s also YouTube’s most viewed video of all time.
Number three on the list is J Balvin’s “Mi Gente,” featuring Willy William.
Since its release in June, “Mi Gente” has racked up 1.4 billion views on YouTube. The video for the remix, which features Beyonce, dropped in September and currently has over 60 million views.
Number four is Maluma’s “Felices Los 4.”
With over 1.1 billion views, the music video for “Felices Los 4” led to a salsa version of the song featuring Marc Anthony, with footage that elaborated on the storyline of the original video.
Number five is Bruno Mars with his animated music video “That’s What I Like.”
Driven by Mars’ dance moves and clever graphics, “That’s What I Like” has surpassed 1 billion views.
Number six on the list is “Ahora Dice” by Puerto Rican singer Chris Jeday.
Shot in New York and featuring reggaeton/Latin trap artists J Balvin, Ozuna and Arcángel, this music video has racked up over one billion views.
Nicky Jam made it to number seven on the list with his music video for “El Amante.”
The Dominican-Puerto Rican singer’s video is just a few thousand views — it’s currently at 983k views — from hitting a billion.
Enrique Iglesias’ collaboration with Descemer Bueno and Zion & Lennox, “Subeme La Radio” made it to the tenth spot.
In 2014, Iglesias and Bueno teamed up with Gente de Zona for the smash hit “Bailando,” which has more than two billion views on YouTube.
