Everyone Is Talking About The Giant Diamond Ring That J Balvin Gave To Justin Bieber, But What Does It All Mean?
Justin Bieber received a massive diamond ring from J Balvin that has everyone wondering what is going on? The 25-year-old posted a photo of the ring as an Instagram story, thanking Balvin for the lavish accessory but he didn’t provide any context for the gift.
The “What Do You Mean?” singer photographed his hand wearing the giant square-cut diamond on his index finger, along with his 18 karat gold Tiffany & Co. wedding band on his ring finger. Some wondered if the exchange was a sign the pair were going to collaborate again.
Balvin responded to Bieber’s thank you note.
“J Balvin, thank you for the ring,” Bieber shared on his Instagram story featuring a tiny gif of Balvin himself.
The 34-year-old “Mi Gente” singer wrote back on his account, “It’s all love Má g!!!” with a few laughing and crying emojis. Fans began to speculate that the two were collaborating on a song together possibly called “The Ring” or referencing a ring in the title. It wouldn’t be too big of a shock, the singers are connected in more ways than one.
Rumors swirl that Balvin will be collaborating with Bieber.
Balvin previously worked with Bieber on the hit “Sorry” remix. Not only that, they share the same manager: Scooter Braun. The two also seemed to just vibe together according to Balvin.
“I was like ‘I love your kicks,’ and he was like ‘I like your jacket too,” Balvin told Hot 97 about meeting Bieber before they collaborated. “It was a good vibe. I have respect for everybody, so we were talking about life, fashion and two months later he was like ‘why don’t you do the remix?’ It was something real and organic. It was all about good energy and good vibes.”
Bieber has not said much about his new album which would be the first since 2015’s Purpose. Despite doing features with other artists like Billie Eilish and DJ Khaled he has only suggested that it would be released soon. But the timing could be right, Balvin just released a new single called “Blanco” off of his first and currently unnamed solo album since his joint effort Oasis with Bad Bunny.
“I want to be that guy to make Spanish music global so I’m going to keep pushing it … it’s something Latino people have been working on for 100 years and now we’re seeing the effects … I know I’ve got a mission and the mission is to be inspiring, inspire the world. Good vibes. I represent culture, I represent youth, I represent the people that follow me. Because what we have is power, people listen to us,” Balvin told Hypebeast over the summer.
With the two possibly releasing new albums under the same management and around the same time, it seems all the more likely they might just be working together.
Bieber is allegedly working on a new album.
According to People, sources told the magazine that Bieber is already working on his first album in more than four years.
“Hopefully in time for the holidays,” the source told People, adding it will be “released very soon.”
In October, Bieber told his fans that if a post on Instagram received 20 million likes he would release new music before Christmas. Bieber who has 121 million fans on the platform only received a little over 11 million likes.
“If this gets 20 million likes Justin Bieber will release an album before Christmas,” Bieber wrote. “Share it, like it, post in your story, I gotta see the demand. Love you guys pumped for it! I’m almost done but your support will make me move faster.”
Bieber has been newly motivated to create new music after addressing some of his deeper mental health issues, according to People’s source. In April, Bieber crashed Ariana Grande’s Coachella appearance and performed with her on stage.
“I haven’t been on stage in like two years. I came out here I had no idea I was going to be on stage tonight. So anyway, this is my first time on stage in two years,” he told the audience. “I had to get my groove back, my swag back. By the way — album coming soon.”
