After Winning The World Series, Carlos Correa Proposed To His Girlfriend On Live TV
Last night was a pretty monumental night for Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa. Yes, his team won the World Series — the first time in franchise history — but he also popped the question. Here’s the play-by-play:
After a wild series between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers, this was the final out of the game:

Venezuela’s José Altuve made the final catch, closing out the game 5-1 in favor of the Astros.
People were ecstatic. Especially this little guy.

While his teammates were celebrating, Carlos Correa was in the middle of doing an interview when he decided to propose…

Despite all the chaos around him, Correa he was able to keep his composure and pull off the big question.
Correa’s girlfriend wasn’t the only one who was stunned.

While this moment warmed my heart, I was soon asking myself who is this girl!?
Correa proposed to his girlfriend, Daniella Rodriguez, formerly Miss Texas USA 2016.
The couple met last fall, according to the New York Post. Rodriguez is an alum of Texas A&M and is working to get a master’s degree in school counseling.
Rodriguez told the Associated Press that Correa told her to stay on the field while he was doing the televised interview.
“He kept calling me to be next to him during an interview, which I really didn’t understand why cause it’s just a regular interview, so he’s like, ‘Just don’t leave, just don’t leave. Stay right there.’ So I was like, ‘OK,'” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said she had no clue he was going to propose because Correa was concentrating on the game.

“He had been so focused on the game,” Rodriguez told the AP. “All he ever talked about was winning the World Series, so I never really thought something like this would be on his mind, so when it all went down, I was just shocked.”
But it seems like everyone else did know, including his teammates.
“I saw a picture of the ring two days ago,” Alex Bregman, Astros third baseman, told the AP. “We were supposed to do it (after) Game 6, but then we didn’t play our game. Came back today, won the World Series, the guy proposed to his girlfriend. It was unbelievable.”
“Everyone knew besides me,” Rodriguez said.
“I’m really good at finding stuff out,” Rodriguez told the AP. “Every time I had a surprise birthday party, I would always find out. So I was literally in just the complete dark about this. Everyone knew but me.”
But all of this does leave us wondering one thing…
If the Astros had lost, would Carlos Correa be engaged right now?
