Finally A Drag Race Elimination That We Can All Agree With Even If It Still Kinda Hurts

The mother of all Drag Race exits has left the building once again. And even though we have to say it was a well-deserved elimination (finally!), watching a legendary queen sashay away wasn’t easy.

Miss Vanjie was obviously a fan favorite and people are having all the feels.

Even if she was a fan favorite, it’s been pretty well-accepted that Miss Vanjie just didn’t deliver this episode and when you’re in the Top 5, you have to bring it every. single. time.

But let’s start from the top.

As always, the queens return to the workroom after Nina’s elimination. Everyone seems surprised at her elimination and given the tone of their conversation, Nina’s a shoo-in for Miss Congeniality this season.

Silky is still pissed at Brooke for pairing her with Soju for the makeover challenge, but there’s no doubt among the queens that she deserved to be in the bottom.

Both A’keria and Brooke are straight with her about her underwhelming lip-sync since she’s been hyping up her lip-sync skills all season and when finally tested, she was a complete mess.

Yet for some reason, Mother Ru keeps saving her. Like whyyyy?!

Don’t tell this to the Reverend Doctor or you’re going to have some serious issues but after numerous critiques from the judges, Silky has completely failed to improve.

When it came time for the Lip Sync, Mama Ru went for the ratings and pitted Miss Vanjie against Brooke.

Each had to perform to the Aretha Franklin classic “Pride: A Deeper Love.”
After what can only be described as a pretty average lip synch, Ru decides to save Brooke and tells Miss Vanjie to sashay away.

But did their “situation-ship” survive the battle?

According to Miss Vanjie in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, we’ll have to wait until the reunion special to hear the tea on #Branjie, but that video looks pretty clear to us.

Crown or no crown, Vanjie is loved!

All over social media, Miss Vanjie is getting an outpouring of support and love.

Like, seriously, really truly loved!

Fans are doing all they can to keep #Vanjie trending on Twitter and so far it’s definitely working.

Many though are just glad this is finally an elimination that was decided fairly after the Silky debacle of last week.

Like, for real Mama Ru, what were you thinking? #BringBackNina

All season long, we’ve been faced with shady eliminations.

I mean…Shuga…come on! That was totally wrong.

But ultimately, Mother Ru simply sent Vanjie off to pack for an inevitable return in All-Stars.

And we are here for it. Miss Vanjie has cemented her place in Drag Race fandom and as the first queen eliminated in season 10 to making the top five in season 11….not many could pull off that kind of turnaround.

But for the question you’re all asking…did her exit on Season 11 top her exit on Season 10?

Let’s be real, she was never going to top her iconic first exit, but it was fun to see her go in such a different way this time. “Bring pack that spotlight!”

She may not have made the finale this time, but with a bit more seasoning, Vanjie will be a serious contender wherever she pops up next.
