Bella Thorne Sobs While Addressing Whoopi Goldberg Who Slut-Shamed Her For Taking Nude Selfies

Earlier this week, we reported on the terrible ordeal that happened to actress Bella Thorne. A hacker attempted to threaten the star with nude images he had taken from her phone. He told her that if she didn’t give him money, he’d release the photos to the public. While Thorne tried to talk him out of doing that — because he’d threatened other celebs — she decided to take power away from him and the release the images herself. The majority of people on social media applauded her for taking control of the situation and releasing the pictures herself. There was one person, however, that didn’t think she deserved any praise.

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said Bella Thorne shouldn’t have been taking nude pictures in the first place.

“Listen, if you’re famous, I don’t care how old you are, you don’t take nude pictures of yourself,” Whoopi said on the show. “When they’re hacking you, they’re hacking all of your stuff. So, whether it’s one picture or a million pictures, once you take that picture, it goes into the cloud, and it’s available to any hacker who wants it. If you don’t know that in 2019, that this is an issue… you don’t get to do that.”

Thorne fired back emotionally at Goldberg and called her out for what she says was essentially slut-shaming.

On her Insta-story, Thorne addressed Goldberg directly, saying ” “Dear Whoopi, I have loved u for so long, but honestly I’m so displeased and saddened by your response to my [leak]. Blaming girls for taking photos in the first place? Is sick and honestly disgusting,” she said, “I’m offended for anyone out there who has ever taken a sexy photo.”

She also said that she would no longer be making a scheduled appearance on “The View” saying that she did not want to expose her own audience to such negative thoughts.

“I’m not gonna lie. I wanna say that I feel pretty disgusting. You know, I feel pretty disgusting, Whoopi, knowing that everyone has seen my shit. And I just wanna say that me watching this interview made me feel really bad about myself. Shame. On. You. Whoopi. Shame on you. And Shame on you for putting that public opinion just out there like that for every young girl to think that they’re disgusting for even taking a photo like that. Shame on you,” she said. “Saying if you take a sexy photo then it basically deserves to get leaked, like, don’t be surprised at all and don’t feel sorry for yourself. So, if I go out to a party drinking and I wanna dance on the dance floor, do I deserve to be raped too? Because to me, I see those two things as really f*cking similar.”

Goldberg’s words are a clear reflection of an older generation’s mindset.

We have seen her time and time again, be degrading of things going on in popular culture. She hates talking about topics that have to do with men, dating, marriage, and definitely anything about reality TV.

We totally understand that “The View” is about having different perspectives, but Goldberg should have been a bit more sensitive about this topic and not come down so hard on her. People know there’s a risk when taking nude selfies, but that doesn’t give people the right to violate them by hacking, blackmailing or shaming them.

We are very curious to know how this topic will play out on “The View.”
