Alex Rodriguez Wrote A Sweet Instagram Post After J.Lo Didn’t Take Home A Golden Globe

A lot of people expected J.Lo to bag her first Golden Globes win last night and she arrived looking like a winner in a Valentino gown, paired with major Harry Winston jewels. Sadly, Jenny from the block didn’t take home the award, but the note Alex Rodriguez wrote her on Instagram alone, was worth 1,000 Golden Globes. Meanwhile, we can’t even get a text back.

Win or lose, Alex Rodriguez is rooting for Jennifer Lopez.

The retired baseball player, took to Instagram to share a sweet note to Lopez after she lost the award. J.Lo was nominated for best-supporting actress in a motion picture for her role in Hustlers during the 2020 Golden Globes on Sunday.

Alongside a photo of his fiancée on the red carpet at the ceremony, he wrote on Instagram.

“Jen, it doesn’t take a trophy, medal, or plaque to identify a true champion. To millions of young women who have watched you and have been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in their lives, you are a champion,” he shared.

He then continued to round off the other people in her life, including “countless musicians, dancers, actresses, and performers” as well as her family.

“To your children, your family, your coaches, your staff, and your extended family, you are a champion,” he wrote. “To everyone whose lives you enrich daily, you are a champion. And don’t you ever forget it. ❤️❤️❤️”

And in case you were left wondering, yep, J.Lo commented on the post.

“You are my everything ❤️,” replied the pop star.

Of course, those who follow A-Rod and J.Lo‘s relationship closely won’t be surprised by this public display of affection.

The former baseball player is always showing that he’s her number one fan, whether that’s through being the perfect Instagram fiancé on the red carpet, or just saying the most affectionate words. “I can’t believe it’s been two years,” he wrote on Instagram in February 2019 in honor of their two-year anniversary. “Only 730 days, which have flown by, but it feels like we have been together forever. We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words.” He added, “Like you, there is none other. Words will never do justice to what the last two years have meant to me. Thank you for always being you, for your unwavering support and unconditional love.”

In the end, J.Lo lost to Laura Dern for her work in “Marriage Story.”

The multi-hyphenate performer lost the Golden Globe for best-supporting actress in a motion picture to Laura Dern, who had also beat out nominees Kathy Bates, Annette Bening, and Margot Robbie for the honor.

The singer’s soon-to-be-husband shared more pictures of both of them at the ceremony.

A-Rod also shared several selfies of himself and Lopez at the ceremony. In the caption of one photo taken outside of the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, the former athlete wrote, “Head of @jlo security, reporting for red carpet duty! @goldenglobes.”

Before the ceremony, J.Lo spoke about all the training she did to perfect her dancing in “Hustlers,” in which she played a stripper who becomes a con artist.

After all the hard work, she wanted to make sure the audience saw it was really her doing the impressive moves. “I was like, ‘Please get a close up of my face, even if I look like a bat hanging down, please make sure they know it was me so they didn’t think it was a stunt double.’ It was hard,” J.Lo told Ryan Seacrest during the E! red carpet pre-show. “The one great benefit is having a pole in our master bedroom for six months,” Rodriguez added.

J.Lo channeled her character in “Maid in Manhattan” with her show-stopping look for the night.

The actress looked like a princess in a Valentino gown featuring gold and emerald embellishments. She paired the voluminous dress with major Harry Winston jewels.

Equally as impressive as her full ball gown was her glam.

Specifically her hair, which was tightly pulled back into a giant braided bun and looked very familiar. Although the star’s hairstylist Chris Appleton told InStyle exclusively that the show-stopping look was inspired by Grace Kelly, social media couldn’t help but compare it to the one her character (Marisa Ventura) wore in “Maid in Manhattan.
