The USPS Is Honoring Latino Deliciousness With Forever Stamps. Check Out Which Dishes Are Being Highlighted
The United States Postal Service loves giving people fun and new Forever stamps that capture what the American experience is all about from iconic people to culturally relevant symbols. On April 20, Latinos will get another nod from USPS via food. That’s right. The 2017 ‘Delicioso‘ collection of Forever stamps include foods that represent the Latino American experience.
Here’s a little preview of what you can soon start slapping on all of your letters (if you still do that kind of thing).USPS
“With the release of the new Delicioso Forever® stamps, the U.S. Postal Service celebrates the influence of Central and South American, Mexican, and Caribbean foods and flavors on American cuisine,” reads the USPS website. “This book of 20 stamps features six dishes from an array of Latin American culinary traditions that have found new life and variations in the United States.”
USPS even commissioned Latino artist John Parra to create the *delicioso* art.

“I had the honor to create the artwork for the collection, with images celebrating the influence of Central and South American, Mexican and Caribbean food cuisine,” Parra wrote on his website. “Each stamp showcases a bright and playful illustration of one of the following dishes: tamales, flan, sancocho, empanadas, chile relleno and ceviche.”

The official release day for the “Delicioso” Forever stamps is set for April 20 and the National Hispanic Cultural Center has already planned a celebration for the release.
This could totally be a recurring thing for USPS since there are so many delicious foods in Latino cultures.
